Montresor awoke, frightened by the sound of his alarm clock.
"darn thing's always on time..." He reaches for the snooze button, and went back to bed.
Two minutes had gone by, and his lovely husband entered the room where he had been sleeping, banging, clanging, hitting and any other aggravating noises, pots and pans. Fortunato thought it was the funniest thing, but Montresor had other feelings. Aggressively, he reached for the pillow he had been sleeping on, and chucked it at his lovely husband's crotch.
"You will pay for that, Fortunato..." He said.
Fortunato laughed Montresor's threatening comment off and said "yeah, yeah. Let's hurry up now sweety, you will be late for work!"
Montresor hated those words. He hated that man that worked there. The only think he didn't hate about that, PLACE, was his really good, his only, friend Lou. If he hadn't married Fortunato, Lou would have been his second choice.
"Breakfast is on the table. Get dressed and all those silly things you do in the morning. I'm going for a walk. I will be home before you leave. Get going now baby." He winks at the one man in this world he loves.
Montresor did all his morning things: got dressed, gelled his hair, ate.
He got out the door in under ten minutes. Perfect.
He waved down a Taxi cab. He got in and told the driver the address to his unholy workplace. As they drove down the city roads. All he could think about is how he could get back at the one man he loved. Or thought he loved. He didn't think he did. Then his brain took him back to their wedding day. The love they made. The vows they made. The vows they made. The vows they made! Then he remembered the one particular vow:
"Till Death Do Us Part"
He knew what he needed to do.
When the taxi finally pulled up to that vile place. He paid the man, opened the car door, and out he went.
When he entered the building's doors, Lou was right in his face.
"Hey stranger!" Said Lou.
"Hello." Answered Montresor.
"Jeez you look like shit. What happened?"
He was so focused on revenge he didn't pay attention to his public appearance. It's fine.
"Busy night." Answered Montresor.
"Oh. I see how it is." He winked.
Montresor was aggravated by the fact that he thought he meant something sexual. But it's fine. There's a bigger task at stake.

                                      5 p.m
Montresor looked at his watch. It read "5:00 p.m"
Perfect.
He was out the door in 5 seconds. Waved down a Taxi and home he went.
When the car reached his house, he was hesitant to even open the door.
"Are you alright, sir?" Asked the Taxi driver.
"Yes, I'm fine." Answered Montesor.
He opened the door and climbed out of the cab. He hoped that wasn't suspicious.
When he walked into his house, Fortunato was waiting for him.
"Late." Fortunato stated.
"Traffic." Answered Montresor.
"Oh i see." He smiled.
Montesor smiled back. But they were smiling about two different things.
"Dinner's on the table. I'm going to go take a shower. Be right back, my love." He kissed Montresor and walked out of the room  towards the bathroom.
Montresor noticed that Fortunato's glass was on the kitchen counter. He walked over dropped a few drops of poison into the wine and sat down at the dinner table. When Fortunato finally got out of the shower, he grabbed his glass and sat down with Montresor to talk to him about his day.
Perfect.
As they talked, Montresor sat anxious and uncomfortable waiting for the moment to come.
Fortunato took a sip of his wine and immediately started to quiver.
Montresor stood up, frightened to see his husband go.
He rushed over to the struggling man. He held Fortunato in his arms and said the words:
"Goodbye my love."
As the life of his once love left his body, Montresor kissed his love goodbye, one last time.
