Elliot and I carried boxes into my childhood home in Queens. We had talked to the owners, and after I explained to them our plans on fostering more children, they helped us purchase the house by lowering the price considerably. It also helped for them to know that I grew up in this house, and I was the one who broke the garage apartment's window with a basketball when Elliot and I were playing one on one.

"Auntie Cy, you and my Mommy lived here?" Christopher asked, as soon as Elliot and I entered the house.

"Yeah, we lived here. And thanks to your parents, I can stay in the garage apartment, and play games with you all the time." My sister smiled.

Once again, our family is very important to us, so after I told Cynthia about our mother and how she was going to be in rehab for a while, and she brought up how she was having a hard time paying off student debt, we asked her to move in. She could help with Christopher and any other children that we might end up fostering or possibly having.

"Mommy, where is my room?" Christopher asked as I stacked a box on top of a few other ones. I looked at my son and smiled softly.

"Come on, I'll show you." I smiled at my son.

I carried Christopher up the stairs, and I covered his eyes with my hand as I opened the door to my old bedroom. If we start to foster, he'd have to share this room, possibly, but there are two other normal bedrooms, and then, of course, the master one, but like when my parents lived here, one room won't be an office.

"Baby, Grandma painted you a mural on the wall." I breathed. When we brought it up to Bernie that we were moving, she insisted on doing something special for her third grandchild. She did it for all of the grandchildren she got, and it wasn't going to skip Chrissy.

"Mommy! I can't see it!" He squealed, and I laughed softly. I opened the door and felt tears sting my eyes as I thought about everything I used to do in this room. All the nights my parents would come in and say goodnight, or after I first adopted and still got nightmares, my parents would come in and even if my bed had only been a twin, we all fit in it as they told me Serena would never be able to hurt me again.

I sat my son down on his feet, and he squealed as he went sprinting towards the wall that had a whole outdoor scene with dinosaurs and all he loves.

"I love it! Has Daddy seen it?! Daddy is gonna love this!" He cried, before running to me and hugging my legs. I caressed his curls and smiled, before sinking down to his level. I hugged him tightly to my chest and kissed his hair.

"When I get a baby brother, will he be staying in here with me too?"

"What?" I asked.

"Daddy said that you may have a baby in your belly soon." He smiled as if it wasn't a really personal matter.

"Well let me go tell your Daddy to stop telling you things." I huffed.

I carried a few boxes upstairs and asked Cynthia to help Christopher with his unpacking, and then I found my husband in the driveway. He was shooting the basketball at the hoop, and it bounced off and I caught it. I looked at him and sighed.

"I think we need to talk, El." I breathed, as I started to walk towards him.

"About?" He questioned, as I stepped up to where he was and shoved the basketball back into his hands.

"Are you ready for a baby?" I asked, and he nodded. He didn't even try to hesitate.

"Yeah, I want a baby. I want Chris to have a brother or sister close in age." Elliot spoke, and I sighed a bit.

"You told our son before you told me?"

"I thought our kid could ask, and then you would decide you wanted a baby too."

"Well, I want a baby, but we just got a new house, and we signed up for being an emergency foster home, and we both work. How do you expect me to have a baby, take care of Chris, work, take care of you, and still be a foster mother?" I questioned, and he frowned.

"We always come back to this fight." He sighed, and I nodded slowly.

"We do." I breathed. I crossed my arms over my chest and sighed.

"Let's just finish moving everything in. Uh, we can discuss babies later." He breathed, and I nodded slowly.

Elliot stepped forward and kissed me gently, before going into the house and shutting the door behind him. Great.

After unpacking most of our stuff, Elliot went into the garage to break down the boxes and store them, while I vacuumed the living room and hallways. Cynthia was giving Christopher a bath and getting him ready for bed, because once he was asleep and she was, Elliot and I had to talk, again.

"Alright, all of the boxes are put away. Are you ready for bed?" Elliot yawned, as he saw my winding up the cord of the vacuum cleaner.

"Yeah," I replied. I left the vacuum where it was, and then I grabbed Elliot's hand and climbed up the stairs and towards our bedroom. It was weird having the master bedroom as ours, but after we painted it a few weeks ago it didn't seem like my parents' old room anymore.

"So, can we talk about this baby stuff?" I asked, and Elliot looked down at his hands as I dug through one of our suitcases.

"Do you not want to have a baby? Do you just want to foster and adopt?" Elliot asked, and I frowned.

"I want to have a baby with you, El. I just don't know why you think now is the right time." I frowned.

"Because we are both in a good spot in our lives. You are back at work, and Christopher is starting school in a few days, and I think that maybe now is the time to start trying for a baby." He spoke.

Tears welled in my eyes as I thought.

"Okay." I breathed.

"Okay, we can try for a baby?"

"Yeah," I replied quietly. He just wanted a baby so bad, and I couldn't push it off any longer. I was scared of going through this all, and not have my mother by my side through it. I couldn't ask her questions, and Serena isn't a good representation of a mother. I just had to take the plunge and get over my fears. We are good parents to Chris, and we'll be good parents to a baby.
