Not a single cloud in the clear blue sky, as the sun shines bright hitting just right onto the trees and flowered bushes that surrounded us. The refreshing scent of nature captures the inside of my nostrils as I take a deep inhale and slowly exhale through my mouth. We were definitely no longer in our world. I look over to see Zachariah checking out our surroundings, the expression on his face was between intrigued and scared.

Keomae: "Zachariah? Zachariah snap out of it!" I say, rattling him gently.

Zachariah: "Keomae. . .what is that?" I look over to see where he was pointing. A flock of birds were flying in unison, heading in our direction.

Keomae: "They're just birds Zachariah, nothing for you to be afraid of" they make a loud screeching noise that forces us to shield our ears.

Zachariah: "They don't look like birds Keomae" he starts to get up, taking a few steps back. From a distance they looked like birds, but as they drew closer they looked like...."CROW'S Keomae they're crows, run!"

Zachariah quickly grabs my hand and starts to run, I try to keep up with him.

Mirror: "Keomae, you are in grave danger, you must find a place to hide." The mirror warns.

Keomae: "What? But where? Why are there crows after us?

I bump into Zachariah's back when he comes to a sudden stop. Noticing that it was impossible to out run the crows he pushes me into some bushes and begins to swing at the crows with a stick.

Keomae: "Zachariah, no!"

My body quivered as I began to see that our lives were in more danger. I quickly grabbed Zachariah and ran back into the bushes. Something was coming. I signal for Zachariah to stay quiet as I peek my head over the bushes.

The crows start to spiral neatly in the air and right in the center of them appears a woman. She wore a feathery black skin-tight dress with some beautiful black heels, I must add. Her long and wavy  black hair that had a crow's feather pinning it half up in the back. Her lips were painted black to go with her eye-shadow, but her eyes were cold and vicious. I can tell she wasn't here to make friend's.

Zena: "Well done my feathery friends, you will be greatly rewarded" she speaks to the crows "I know you're here, hm-hm I can smell your fear" she says as she steadily licks her painted lips.

My heart beats so fast I swear even Zachariah could hear it. Who was this woman? What does she want with us?

Zena: "I grow tired of waiting!" She snaps her fingers, commanding one of her crow's to force Zachariah and I out of hiding.

Mirror: "Oh no, it's Zena!" Mirror utters, by the troublesome sound in her voice I could tell that this women was trouble.

Zena: "I am Zena of the crow's and I have been looking for you, Keomae." "Huh" how does this women know my name?

Keomae: "How do you know my name, what do you want with me!?"

Zena: "Oh and look at that, you brought the mirror with you" she smiles a sinister smile "master will be most pleased."

This woman was after the mirror and I have no intentions of giving it to her. I whisper over to Zachariah telling him to run, grabbing my hand we start to run as fast as we can. Zena begins to laugh.

Zena: "you're making this all the more enjoyable" she says as she dictates her crow's to come after us.

Zachariah: "Keomae! That mirror has brought us here, she should be able to get us out! Right!?" I noded my head at Zachariah.

Keomae: "Mirror! Help us please!?"

Mirror: "Keomae, point me in their direction and chant these words..." The mirror says some words to me that was in a whole other language, but for some reason I could understand them.

Keomae: "What was that, Turkish?"

Mirror: "no time now Keomae. Do it now!" I nodded, raising my arms up over my head with the mirror in my hands, aiming it at an angle slightly towards the crow's..."now Keomae!"

Keomae: "Sacred mirror, shine your light, to cast away the darkness so they may know no spite!"

The mirror shines a light so bright, beaming out striking the crow's. Astonishing at how they were vanishing into the light! Like nothing I've ever seen before. Zachariah had the same look of amazement in his eye's. The light stopped and I pulled the mirror back down to eye level. There were no more crows. A blur flashes in and out from my sight as I begin to feel drained of energy, falling to my knees.

Zachariah: "Keomae! Are you okay?" I look up at him telling him that I would be fine. "How did you do that?" He continued to ask. Looking down at the mirror "i dunno" the mirror feels warm to the touch. I call out to it, worried but nothing but silence. Had the mirror used up all its power on that attack? "What's wrong Keomae?" He asks

Keomae: "The mirror...she isn't responding." I explain to him.

Zena: "YOU WRETCH "Huh" oh no, it was Zena! I thought she had vanished with those obnoxious crow's. "YOU DESTROYED MY BEAUTIFUL CROW'S!" She yells angrily.

Keomae: "Dammit! The light didn't pierce her." I say still feeling a little weak. Zachariah stands up in front of me holding his arms out as a shield "Zachariah, what are you?--"

Zachariah: "Enough! Leave her alone! She doesn't know you nor wishes to know you! So just let us go!" He yells to Zena. Wow, he's braver than I thought but his bravery wasn't enough. For Zena plucked one of the feathers from her dress and moved so fast, faster than the blinking eye and pierced Zachariah in his left abdomen with her transformed sharp feathered weapon. Clinching his stomach with both arms he holds out one of his hands seeing it covered in blood, he collapses to the ground in pain.

Keomae: "NO! Zachariah! Are you okay?" I ask, trying to stop the bleeding. He struggles to speak the wound was cut deep.

Zachariah: "Keomae, you have to get out of here" he's speaking crazy if he thinks I'm just going to leave him here. I prop one of his arms over my shoulders and start to carry him away from any danger. Thank God I still had some energy left in me, for he was heavier than I thought. "Keomae--"

Keomae: "Forget it. I'm not leaving you here. You're my best friend Zachariah, I don't know what I would do without you" he smiles at me.

Zena: "Awe, how touching, but you won't escape me" she lunges at us, forcing us to separate.

Zachariah: "Keomae! Run!"

Zena plucks another feather from her dress and it transforms into a sharp dagger. I started to run, trying to throw her off my tail but she was too fast, like a flash of lightning fast. I trip over a rock, a freaking rock. I knew it was the end.

Zena: "You're mine!"

Zena throws the dagger. With my back pressed up against a big rock, images of home with mom and dad take hold of my mind. I shut my eyes tight, biting the inside of my bottom lip hoping, praying that this wouldn't be the day that I die.
