Chapter18: Home

SKY'S POV

I was really happy when I met Nashi and her friend. But I gotta admit, I was jealous because she seems to be having fun with her friend. Meanwhile, I'm stuck here because dad wouldn't let me join a guild. He said I wouldn't fit in or it's too dangerous. Seriously?! That's why I train everyday to get better and stronger. Sheesh.

I reached our house and stopped as I saw dad talking to Reina-san. So, Reina-san is a really nice lady whom my dad saved a couple years ago. And she drops by every now and then to check up on us and give us some of her amazing pies. 

I continued walking and they stopped talking, must have seen me coming. "Hey Reina-san! Dad!" I said and raised my arms in a wave.

"Hello Sky-kun. Well I better get going. Nice talking to you, Lyon." Reina-san said as she smiled at my dad and went on her way.

"How'd your trainging go?" my dad asked. I was frozen in my spot and looked at dad.

"How did you....?" I was pretty shock. I mean, I was keeping it a secret but apparently not secret enough.

"With you sneaking around and disappearing half the day, you wouldn't think I'd notice?" he looked at me and I rubbed my neck sheeishly.

"Well..." I said, trying to come up with an excuse. "I thought that you wouldn't to train and you're against me joining a guild even though you were in one and ..... yeah.... I'm sorry, dad." I finished lamely and looked up at him.

"You know, you could have asked me. I would have trained you." he said and started to prepare the table for dinner.

"Really?!" 

"Yep. You up for it. I mean I was trained pretty harshly s don't expect me to go easy on you." he looked at me and smirked.

"You don't have to worry because this one's a tough guy." I said proudly and pointed to myself. 

"Really now?" he rubbed my head and I protested. "Well, you should get ready for one hell of a training.

We laughed together and sat down for dinner. It's times like this that I cherish the most and wish that won't stop.

NASHI'S POV

"Mom, I met a new friend today," I told mom as she tucked me in. I know I'm too old for this and I always complain to mom, but she's stubborn and says that I'm still her baby.

"Really?" 

"Yup. His name's Sky and he seems nice enough. And tomorrow, we're meeting him again." I said happily, thinking of all the things we can do and talk about tomorrow.

"That's nice. Maybe you can introduce him to us sometime, yeah?" she smiled and pat my head. She's really beautiful and kind. She's the best mom ever. 

I nodded my head and she kissed me goodnight. She closed the door to my room and I was engulfed in darkness. I soon drifted off to sleep and thought about tomorrow's meeting with Sky.
