I wake to the sound of paige, screaming, as Destiny through her, Small and helpless, paige was. I slowly get up, fighting the pain, I could have had a concussion and not have known it. I was too focused on getting Destiny and helping Paige. My vision was still blurred, but I could fight through it.

I approach Destiny, still proud of what she had done to Paige. I picked up a piece of shattered glass from the window we had entered. Paige was out cold, I had no backup if this went wrong, but pain and adrenaline are a dangerous combination, both of which were pumping through my veins.

I cleared my throat to get her attention, then whipped the glass in front of my eyes, the only protection from the shield's power. I stomp up to her, and grab a sword of the wall. We begin to battle, not knowing the outcome. A couple of her sleeping colleagues began to stir. “You used to love her like family, she was there when you had none.” I cried. “Times change, I have no room for her in my new family!” her words slurred together as if she somewhat regretted them. I swung my sword at her ankles, being a foot shorter. But to my surprise, the sword started to wield itself. Swinging this way and that, Destiny was startled by my supposed upburst in fighting skill, but to be perfectly honest, so was I.

Then out of the blue, she dropped the shield and fell to her knees. Behind this mountain of a woman, stood a tiny, nerdy looking boy, Ethan. My high school rival, risked his life to save mine. He stood, shocked by what he had just done, he was holding the shaft of an arrow,  one of hercules’s arrows. Toxic, almost fatal to the touch, but Destiney was not dead, not yet anyways.

Out of the corner of my eye, I see Paige emerge from the floor, shaking violently. She slowly makes her way to Destiny’s motionless body. A single tear ran down her cheek. She kneeled, face in palms, over Destiny. I didn’t have to know why she was crying, losing someone close to you at heart is always hard, but I had only once before seen Paige cry.

Then, Destiny moved. Obviously in pain, As she pulled the arrowhead out of her abdomen. Her breathing was weak, she tried to talk “Paige” she said in a voice that was hollow and shaky. Destiney raised her hand, and laid it on Paige’s lap. Paige looked up at me with watering eyes pleading for help, silently, but she knows there is nothing I can do to help.
