The seven boys made their way back into the large palace. After checking the empty hall, they were informed that Zeus was waiting for them in the dining area. Suga followed along as they led him through the white marbled hallways.
He marveled at the structure of the place. It was such a stark contrast to the dark interior of his home in the Underworld. The floors were so polished that he could see his black clothes reflected below him. The walls had gold embroideries of Zeus and the other Gods and Goddesses. The tapestries that hung on the walls had symbols of lightning bolts, ancient runes and weapons.
"Wow," he felt himself say under his breath as they passed under a magnificent chandelier gleaming with hundreds of lit candles.
"Those flames never go out," JHope whispered to him, noticing his state of awe. "I heard they came from the Underworld where an everlasting fire burns. Is that true?"
Suga thought about home briefly. "I've never seen it. Perhaps it is hidden."
"Well it is fascinating all the same," JHope said. Suga nodded at that as they continued walking.
The dining room that they finally entered was as big as the room they were in earlier. The smooth wood table seemed to stretch endlessly. The chairs were as sleek as everything else in the palace and Suga couldn't stop himself from running a hand down the back of one. Everything was kept in such pristine condition.
"Ah, my honored guests! Come in, come in. Let's sit down here!" The boys turned to the loud voice of Zeus echoing from across the room. He waved them all down as they went to join him.
The others were marveling at the layout of food on the table, but Suga couldn't help but stare at Zeus. He had changed clothes since they last saw him and was now wearing an ordinary light blue shirt with just the smallest lightning bolt over his left breast.
"You seem amused, Suga," Zeus noticed his gaze as they all took their seats around him.
"I suppose I am," Suga answered, taking his seat beside JHope. "Your shirt just seems so...," he trailed off, unable to think of the right word.
"Human?" Zeus offered.
"Yes, I guess that's about right," Suga nodded.
"You seem to also enjoy the human's fashion sense," Zeus commented.
Suga looked down at his clothes briefly. "I suppose. I never thought about it."
The other boys around him wore white tunics with various pendants that probably represented their homes and parents, but underneath his black cloak he wore black pants and a black top that had Hades' bident imprinted on it. His father only ever wore a long black tunic and at first questioned Suga's interest in pants, but it was something that Hades didn't care for after a while. He never thought his own clothing choice was reflective of the normal mortal fashion, but there was something comforting about pants that he couldn't describe.
But still, it was weird to see Zeus dressed so ordinarily. Especially in the huge magnificent palace that was probably thousands of years old.
"Just because I am a God doesn't mean I don't appreciate human's advancement in attire. Honestly these shirts are much more comfortable than the ceremonial tunics," Zeus said, his eyes lighting up at the mention of shirts. "Besides, look at my swole arms," he raised his arm and flexed it, earning an obvious eye roll from Jimin.
"Father, please," Jimin muttered. "He's been trying to catch up on human terminology and customs lately. He thinks he's cool," he told the group.
"And I've asked you to do the same Jimin, but you only find fascination when studying yourself," Zeus snipped back easily.
