Ronan had had a simple life, helping his parents feed the cattle and helping his two younger sisters with the corn. He easily aced all of his schoolwork, and still had time to help out around the farm. He loved running through the corn, feeling like he was one with it, along with Morgan and Miren(his siblings). They would take the stalks that didn't make it and pretend to swordfight with them. He and Morgan always loved to cause mischief, whether it was releasing the hounds or setting whoopie cushions around the house. But, that was years ago.
Now, his ma was dead, and his father was no longer able to take care of the farm. So, Ronan elected to take it over. He may have been only twenty-six, but he knew he was destined to be a farmer. Morgan, however, wanted to be a famous singer, and Miren didn't want to stay in the town that hated her guts because of her appearance. That worked out for Ronan because he didn't want to fight his sisters for the land.
And so, Ronan tried his best to make a living each year. But, farming without help gets both very difficult and very lonely. He had to get a part-time job to help keep up with the costs. Free time became a thing of the past. He never had the time to go have fun, or to even think about dating. He had made enough to hire a farmhand, but he was still scraping by. And now, Quikkee-Mart was trying to buy his land from him, and he was feeling more and more hopeless with every stalk that perished. One night, he settled in for bed, deciding to give in to both the comforting arms of sleep today and the building pressure Quikkee-Mart was putting on him to sell the farm. He slowly fell into a fitful sleep, dogs piled both on and beside the bed.
But then, all of a sudden, a loud crash and screeching of metal caused a tremor throughout the house, and the dogs went ballistic. Snow and McCree were the first to run at the back door to try and get the sound. One after another, all five dogs charged the door and broke through it. Ronan ran after them through the corn, which was parted and bent from whatever it was. Leashes in hand, he finally found them crowded around a large...metal sphere? He was getting them all leashed up when a panel on the sphere opened, and all hell almost broke loose. The dogs almost ran out of Ronan's iron grip. Almost.
And that's when he saw him: a huge blue...cat...man? Who was now leaning on the opening the lack of panel made, assumedly coughing from the smoke that was billowing around...it? Him? Her? He didn't know. Was this really happening? The premise of almost every damn alien movie? The creature seemed to realize something, turning and reaching around in the sphere, and hopping out with some type of tech. Holy shit. It's a couple feet taller than Ronan, and he's about six feet, so this bitch is big. And has a tail...
"Uhm, hello?" Holy shit, it knows English. He felt himself getting dizzy. Was this a fever dream or some-Everything went black.
