Cough after cough, sniffle after sniffle. I hated this. Thats what you get, Kendall, jogging in the rain yesterday afternoon. I was sprawled on my bed, not even bothering to get up and get ready for school.
My phone began to ring, I pushed myself off the bed and grabbed it off the bed side table.
"Hello?" I answered groggily, my throat burns.
"Hey! I'm outside your building." Jesse's says out of the blue.
"Okay." I hung up, shooting up from the bed. I groaned, my mouth hung open cause my nose was stuffed.
I threw some clothes on, brushed my hair and got into Jesse's car.
"Wow. You look like crap today." He laughed.
I smacked his arm playfully. "See the difference between you and me is I only look like crap today. You look like crap everyday." I laughed but it was cut short by a cough and a groan.
"Are you sure you can go to school?" He asked concerned.
"Just drive." I mumbled. I laid my head back on the headrest and closed my eyes, trying to escape my sickness.
Chocolate by The 1975 played softly in the car. The sound of cars honking made my head hurt.
Jesse shook me awake when we got to school. He opened the door for me, helping me out.
We walked to our first period together, on the way we stopped to say 'Hi' to Jesse's group.
"Whoa Kendall! You look like shit!" Brad teased.
"Haha, you should look at yourself before you say that to me." I retort nasally.
The rest of the group ooh'd in unison.
I reached into my pocket to grab a tissue and wiped my nose.
"Let's go." I cut into Jesse's and Cody's conversation.
"Ok. Seeya' later." He slapped the guys' hands.
"Get well soon, Kendall." Cody gave me a smile, I smiled back.
We walked into class, I took my seat and laid my head down on my arms.

It was the middle of the day, lunch.
Jesse and I are sitting in the cafeteria looking down at our lunch for the day, fish nuggets. It was soggy and slightly cold... Disgusting.
"This food is making me more sick." I sigh, pushing the tray away.
"Dude, you are worse than this morning. How about we just skip out the rest of the day?" He suggests.
"Okay." I grab my bag from the chair next to me and slung it over my shoulder.
We walk towards the trash and threw the prison food away. We got into Jesse's 1970 Dodge Charger and sped out of the School

After picking up pizza, Jesse and I arrived at my building.
"The code to the parking lot is 9803." I remind him.
He types the code in and the gate opens.
"Thanks for reminding me." He chuckles.
He parks next to my car and we entered the building.

It's already 11 O'clock. It's pouring out and Jesse and I are in my room re-watching episodes of Supernatural, and surrounded by junk food.
"Season three finale always gets to me." I wipe a tear from my eye.
I look over at Jesse, his eyes are closed and mouth slightly open. He's asleep.
I couldn't help but smile. He's like an angel.
I sit up, putting all the snacks and drinks away, when I come back into the room, Jesse is all cuddled up in my sheets smiling with my teddy bear -Mr.Poppy-wrapped in his arms.
"I like your teddy bear, I have one exactly like that." I giggle.
"It was tempting. He looks so comfy." He tightens his arms around it.
I turn around and walk into my closet, changing into a pair of cotton shorts and a old t-shirt.
"Are you gonna sleep over? Because you a pair of clothes in my closet."
"Yup." He gets up from the bed and strides over to my closet and shutting the sliding door behind him.
After my nightly routine I undo my bun and climb into bed next to Jesse who is staring out the window.
"I love coming to your place, y'know?" He says.
"I know because every time you come over, my food supply is half gone!" I laugh hystarically, coughing right after.
"Shut up. The view from here is spectacular." he looks over at me and plops back on the bed, now wearing sweat pants and a his old worn out Nirvana t-shirt.
"You should see the view from my dad's place." I add. Imagining the sound of the waves crashing ashore and the blue sky. To be honest, I love going to the Hampton's.
"We should go there during Spring Break. I have a friend up there who throws the wildest parties." He suggests.
The Hampton's, with Jesse? I think that's a yes.
"That's a plan." I agree.
"I have a question." I say after a few minutes of silence.
"Shoot." He says, looking into my eyes.
His bright blue eyes are just to die for.
"What happens after high school? I feel like we're just gonna drift apart and become strangers."
"Why do you think like that?" He asks.
"Like what?"
"Like something terrible is gonna happen. Who says we're gonna drift apart after high school? Because we're not. Why? Because you and I... Are set for life" he smiles, revealing his pearly whites.

At 6 o'clock Jesse leaves so he can go back home and change.
I wake up again at 6:30, feeling much better than I was yesterday.
I do my morning usual and ate breakfast. Jesse texts me saying that he'll just meet me at schools due to a mean traffic jam.
I leave my house around 7: 30. On my way to the parking garge, I say good morning to Keith.
I get into my FR-S and drove into traffic.
-
I got to school just as the 2 minutes after the bell rang leaving me 3 to get get to class on time.
I gather my notebooks for my first two classes from my locker and shove them into my old beat-up leather satchel.
The morning announcements goes on from the speaker. Today was the Homecoming results.
"-and for senior homecoming king and queen this year is Quinn Stevens and..." The announcer pauses as I am racing second flight of stairs to the second floor.
"-Kendall Briggs!" She says just as I burst into class. My mouth drops as it registers in my mind... I'm Homecoming Queen!
