In the end, Ruby, Weiss, Yang and Blake killed the bird, and I got some help from the girl in red (who now I know is called Pyrrha Nikos), and Rei to get rid of the stalker. At some point during our ride back to the school, Blake and Yang became friends.

We were led to the auditorium where a blonde woman stopped me.

"(Y/N) (L/N)?" I look at her with my good eye. She's far too old to be a student, so that should make her an instructor.

"Yes?"

She nods. "My name is Glynda Goodwitch, assistant to the Headmaster. He would like to have a word with you."

I raise an eyebrow then glance at Blake, who's staring at me worriedly from inside the building. Was I found out? Would they try and kill me? What about Blake? Did I put her in danger?

My face must have betrayed me, because the woman adds "you may rejoin your friends at a later time."

I refrain from frowning and and smile reassuringly at Blake. She nods back, but her eyes don't stray from me.

"Very well, I will come with you."

Glynda nods, asking me to follow her. After one last look toward my dark-haired angel, I follow the instructor.

We cross the academy in silence. She doesn't show any feelings, but I can sense from her a mix of nervousness and determination. I am led to a classroom not too far from the auditorium, where the Headmaster waits for us.

"Good afternoon Mr. (L/N)."

"Good afternoon, Headmaster. Professor Goodwitch said you wanted to speak with me."

"Yes, it is about your results of today's exam."

"Oh?" I nod and notice that the woman who led me here is standing close to the headmaster gripping a riding crop tight in her hand. She's like a snake coiled to strike.

"Yes, we... noticed a couple of curious situations during the evaluation."

I cross my arms "Is this about the meeting between Yang, Blake and me?"

"In part" the man is infuriating.

I shrug "they seem to get along well, if you want you can place them both in the same team. I'd prefer to remain close, however."

"Oh? And why is that?"

"I have my own reasons." I'll play his same game, see what happens.

I see the corners of his mouth twitch upward "Which are?"

"Between miss Belladonna and I."

The headmaster and I stare at each other without moving a muscle. Glynda, however, is not as patient.

"Answer the questions, you damned grimm!"

I raise the eyebrow of my good eye at her. She's projecting a huge amount of hate. Enough tosatisfy a couple of the smaller grimm. Me, however, I chose to ignore it.

After a moment Ozpin murmurs "Glynda." Amazingly, the woman stands down.

"You understand, Mr. (L/N), that any grimm found inside the city must be eliminated for the good of the population." I nod, and he continues "however, I find myself intrigued at to the reason why you came to a school full of Hunters and Huntresses... who specialize in killing the grimm."

I drop the act. They know, but they don't know.

"I know you, Ozpin" I begin, uncrossing my arms and walking toward the windows on the other side of the room. If I'm going to be attacked, at least I'd like to have an easier exit. Glynda is still glaring at me, but I doubt she'll attack againt the man's wishes. The headmaster looks curious. "I know who you really are, and what you're up against." I smile easily, making both of them blink "I can feel the power coming from you in waves, what little there is after giving so much to the maidens." They both look startled and I raise my hands in a calming fashion "I knew coming to your school was a danger, but I have my reasons for doing so. And to me, those reasons are more important than the conflict between you and my sister."

Glynda's normally pale complexion is put to shame when the blood drains from her face. Ozpin, however, looks more intrigued than scared. That is good. If I can convince his that I'm not a threat, maybe I'll be able to stay.

"Miss Belladonna?" He asks with a curious expression.

I nod and look at the sun, the trees and the grass on the other side of the window, although my mind is light-years away "Centuries ago, I was looking for prey to feed off. After many days, I found a small family living on a cottage in the woods. I was already old by then, so I had much more control than the rest of my brethren and wanted to wait so I could catch each member by themselves. I wanted the fear of the disappearances to grow with the days; but, as I looked on, waiting for the perfect moment to strike, I began noticing things that I had never before.

"I noticed the smiles the parents shared when talking to their offspring, then the laughter of the children as they chased each other outside the haven of their house." I can't help but smile as memories flood my mind "They were a really happy family... and I observed them for weeks, trying to understand their behavior. I watched as they dined, played and worked the fields together. They didn't have much in way of monetary goods, but their life was good, and they were happy." I tear my eye away from the window to stare at Ozpin and his assistant "After all that time, I took notice of something else: I didn't feel hungry anymore."

They both looked intrigued, so I continued "We grimm do not feed off flesh, nor do we consume the souls of the dead. We feed from the feelings given off by our prey. Anger and fear are powerful, and we gain much from them... but that doesn't mean we can't feed from other feelings... feelings like friendship, happiness and love work too."

"You- you mean..." Glynda can barely speak.

"Yes, I fed from the feelings of happiness from the family."

Silence reigned on the room while I looked out the window again.

"Does this mean... can it be duplicated?" Ozpin asks. As I turn to him, I notice they both are sitting now.

I shrug "I suppose it can. But the grimm would need to have a consciousness. So the smaller ones would still need to be wiped out... unless you're willing to wait a couple of centuries for them to grow wise."

"Are there other like you?"

I repeat the gesture "If there are, I haven't found any, and I haven't tried making any."

"M-making them?" Glynda asks again, she seems to be taking this harder than Ozpin... no surprises there. She's only human, after all.

I nod "My sister Salem used her own blood and spells to create pools from which grimm are spawned every once and again. I know the spells, but have never tried them myself, so I don't know if any grimm spawned from my blood would be like me or... normal."

Another pause, this one longer.

I separate from the window and cross the room, sure that they won't attack me. I turn as I reach the door "Shall we adjourn? I believe the students are waiting for you to form teams... and I'm sure my friends will be wondering where I've gone."

Ozpin recovers quickly.

He nods with a small smile on his face "Yes, thank you. You have given us much to think about." He turns toward Glynda who is no longer projecting surprise, but hope, of all things. "Glynda, would you please accompany Mr. (L/N) back to the auditorium? I will meet you at the there. Also-" his last words are directed at me, so I meet his gaze "teams are normally formed by four members, but I'm sure we can work something out at a later date."

I nod "very well." I open the door "After you, Ms. Goodwitch."

The woman says her goodbyes and I follow her out of the classroom and back to the auditorium.

"What about miss Belladonna?" she stops and asks before we reach the building.

"What about her?"

The woman tilts her head to a side. The gesture makes her look younger than normal. "Why do you follow her? Is she another experiment?" the Huntress is projecting curiosity and worry in same quantities.

I shake my head "No." I glance toward the auditorium. I cannot see her, but I am familiar with the 'taste' of her feelings. She's excited, worried and nervous.

The way she silently cares for me, puts a smile on my face "She's special".
