Attack On Titan Online Chapter 1

"Hmm? What's this?" says Eren as he looks at his computer screen. "Attack on Titan? It looks pretty cool, I might give it a try". He clicks on the link and downloads the game.

"Let's get started", he says as the game starts up, "so what do we do first? Ah I see"

He makes his avatar, making it look like him as much as possible, makes his username: rougetitan, and is then directed to the home page.

"Let's see here. So I can play the game where I have to kill titans and stuff with other people? Awesome!"

Eren clicks the mouse and the screen changes to show his avatar, two blades in each hand, standing in a town of old-style houses. He, like the other players, was wearing a white shirt with a brown jacket and white trousers with a leather skirt/shorts thing. He also appeared to have belts strapped on him and a box on either side of him containing more blades.

He got the hang of the controls quickly, and was soon slaying titans left and right whilst speeding around with his 3D manoeuvre gear. He didn't interact with the other players much, until one player sped past him and killed the titan Eren was just about to kill. Annoyed, Eren furiously typed into the chat bar:

RougeTitan: Hey! That was my titan!

The player stopped and landed on a nearby roof. They paused for a bit, Eren assumed they were typing. While they weren't moving, could see what they looked like. They had the build of a female and black hair that fell just to her shoulders. Unlike the other characters, she wore a red scarf.

BloodRedScarf: Sorry. I didn't know you were going to kill it.

RougeTitan: Meh. That's ok. There's plenty others. You're really good by the way

BloodRedScarf: Thank you. I haven't seen you before, would you like to kill some titans as a team?

Eren wondered what to do. He'd been doing fine on his own, and he didn't know this girl very well. He hesitated before typing his response

RougeTitan: I haven't really played with a team before, but you seem alright, so yeah I'll team with you

BloodRedScarf: Ok, let's go find some titans

Eren and the girl he knew as BloodRedScarf worked well as a team, taking down many titans. The girl was much better than Eren at everything, and that annoyed him slightly, but he didn't let it get to him too much. After one battle with a particularly tough titan, Eren had taken some damage.

RougeTitan: I need to heal, wait here

BloodRedScarf: I can't I have to go for dinner. Brb

RougeTitan: Ok. See you

-BloodRedScarf has disconnected-

The girl left to go kill some titans while Eren waited behind, becoming more and more agitated as his health bar took ages to refill.

But while he was waiting, he could see more titans spawning nearby.

"Crap", muttered Eren, "how am I gonna get out of this one?"

Meanwhile...

"Haha! Got it!" cheered Jean. He was sitting alone in his dark room playing a game he had found called "Attack on Titan" and had become obsessed, now playing it at 2am. He was playing solo at first, but then he met another player and an instant friendship formed between them.

NotAHorse: Hey, I found some more titans. Wanna come and kill them with me?

FreckledJesus: Sure!

Jean had no idea who this guy was, but there was something about him that Jean liked. Together, they were a brilliant team together. After they killed those titans, there was a moment of peace so they could talk.

NotAHorse: Hey, um, what's your name? Y'know, in real life

The boy was hesitant to answer, he knew he wasn't supposed to go around giving his name to people online, but there was something about him that made the boy trust him, so he typed his reply.

FreckledJesus: I'm Marco. What about you?

NotAHorse: I'm Jean

FreckledJesus: Hey Jean, what's up with your username? Obviously you're not a horse

NotAHorse: Oh about that. I've been told that I look like a horse, and now I've been given the nickname Horseface. Tbh, it's pretty annoying

FreckledJesus: I'm sure you look fine in real life :)

Without thinking, Marco sent the message, but after he re-read it, a blush crept up on his face and he began to panic.

"Oh no, why did I say that!?" said Marco as he put his hands up to his face and looked at the response between his fingers. But none of the responses were Jean's. He was sitting just staring at the screen, surprised at Marco's comment. All the responses were either "gay!" or "get a room you two!". Then, Jean snapped back to reality and typed up his response.

NotAHorse: Thanks Marco :)

It was just a simple response, but Jean wasn't very good at that kind of thing so that was all he could think of to express the immense feeling of happiness inside him.

RougeTitan: Can somebody please come and help me kill these titans? I'm on low health

Eren waited for a response

NotAHorse: lol n00b

FreckledJesus: Not very nice :/ sorry I can't help, I'm a bit busy

RougeTitan: c'mon guys please?

NotAHorse: it's not our fault you're shit at this game

FreckledJesus: Jean!

RougeTitan: I'm not shit, I'm surrounded by titans and need help killing them all!

"Oh, I forgot about that", he said

The titans were getting closer to Eren. He tried to use his 3dmg to get away but he was completely surrounded.

"Shit!" growled Eren as he slammed his fist down on his desk, "if I die then I'll have to completely restart, it'll take forever to get back to where I am now!"

RougeTitan: Guys please!

NotAHorse: sorry :) me and freckledjesus are preoccupied with these titans. Too bad.

FreckledJesus: sorry!

The titans were getting closer.

"No no no no no!!" wailed Eren as the titans drew nearer...
