It was a late Friday night.
Everyone had gone home and silence reverberated through the computer-lit halls of the large laboratory. Many people would be glad to go home to their families after a hard day at work, but Jimin was different. Jimin lived alone in a two bedroom apartment, and he had no incite to leave any time soon to go back there. In fact, he hadn't gone home in more than a month. He ate and slept in his lab, which many of his colleagues found strange and unusual, maybe even saddening. Notwithstanding, they had no idea what the man was working on and thought he was just being plain lazy...but he was far from that...
Jimin was a gorgeous-looking twenty four year old man, and had not long left his hometown of Busan to come and work at one of the most advanced and technological Universities in all of Korea. It had eternally been his dream to become a scientist ever since he was little, no matter how many times his friends told him that 'he could never achieve something as great as that'. His parents were in charge of one of the largest CEO companies, and were a very rich family. Because of their wealth and connections with the Busan University, they were over easily able to get Jimin into the establishment, not to mention the fact that Jimin also had prodigious grades when he left school. His parents were very supportive of his dreams, and managed to make them come true, which Jimin was so very thankful for.
The blonde-haired beau was sitting in front of his project, gaze focused on the small fragments to which he was attaching onto the tall, metal skeleton that stood before him. His chocolate brown eyes scanned over the soft, tan skin of the humanoid that he had finally finished creating after two years of endless work. He sat up, wiping the sweat that littered his forehead in tiny droplets before standing back to admire his work. "Finally, you're finished.." Jimin said proudly to himself as a wide smile spread across his face. Despite him being so tired after staying up so late for nights on end, Jimin couldn't help but show his urges of happiness and satisfaction as he moved the heavy robot to the centre of the room.
The excited scientist stood back before calling out to the humanoid. "Jungkook, please awaken.." he said, a hopeful undertone lingering in his voice. As much as he knew how secure and fully functioning Jungkook was, something kept nipping at the back of Jimin's mind, saying that his creation was going to fail. This feeling wasn't new to Jimin though, he'd always had a nagging voice that lay in the back of his head, whispering things that were far from true. His friends never really supported him ever since he moved to the university because they were jealous of him, and their venom-like words had stuck with him ever since.
However, the raven haired robot slowly awakened, his eyelids lifting to show his bright blue eyes that slightly lit up the peaks of his smooth cheek bones. "Hello Jimin.." Jungkook said, his tone of voice so realistic that anyone who met him would take him for a normal human being. Jimin's own eyes widened and lit up as he watched the man in front of him come to life. His hands clapped together quickly in joy as he stepped closer to Jungkook, his eyes scanning for any physical faults. "How do you feel Jungkook? Are your heart and brain feeling okay?" he asked, concern lacing his sweet voice. Jimin wanted to make sure that Jungkook's artificial brain and heart were working perfectly fine, and that there were no problems with the younger and how he functioned. Jimin wanted the robot to be as human-like as scientifically possible, and that was more than what he had achieved. "I feel absolutely fine Jimin, don't worry. I can see how concerned you are.." Jungkook replied with a small laugh and a smile that reminded Jimin of a rabbit for some odd reason.
Now, Jungkook was able to breathe, smell, feel, think...He could do anything that any normal human could. He could even eat without having to worry about his metal immune system failing. The only thing he had to worry about was what he drank. Some liquids would not work well with Jungkook, and Jimin knew that all to well. When Jimin was experimenting with Jungkook a few months ago before he was completed, he gave Jungkook a range of drinks that he could potentially encounter during his life span. He had gathered things like water, juices, milkshakes, and even some different alcohols. All seemed to go down absolutely fine, apart from one. Alcohol.
As stupid as that sounds, alcohol really did not mix well with Jungkook. It caused his insides to corrode, which set Jimin back a long way in his progress with the robot. Jimin learned not to give Jungkook anything that related to the substance.
Jimin let out a small laugh as his facial features softened at Jungkook's words. "Good, I'm so relieved and glad that you're finally all completed. I never thought I'd see the day.." Jimin said jokingly as he walked over to his desk, letting out a long, breathy yawn. Jungkook closely followed, and he could see how tired Jimin really was. There were practically eye bags on top of eye bags that rested on Jimin's face, and his voice sounded so strained, like he hadn't had anything to drink in a while, which was exactly the case. Jimin hadn't properly eaten or drank in days, because to him at the time, Jungkook was his main priority. Jungkook sighed softly as he took Jimin's hand in his own, turning him around so their eyes were focused on each other. "Hyung, you need to sleep.. It's late and you look like you're not going to be able to keep yourself awake for much longer.." Jungkook said as he gently squeezed his hyung's hand in a comforting way. Jimin made Jungkook so that he was younger than himself. He didn't exactly know why, he just believed that he would be easier to create because they would have similar thoughts and feelings.
Jimin pouted as he looked at the younger , his eyes practically pleading him like a child to let him stay up later. "But Kookie, I need to check your senses and thoughts!" he whined, his pout only growing. Jungkook found it adorable when his hyung pouted. He had noticed that Jimin often did that minor action, and he slowly learned why he did it and when he did it. Jungkook would often catch Jimin doing it if something he didn't like occurred, or if he had lost something, which was pretty much all of the time in Jimin's circumstance. Jimin was clumsy, and that was just one of the many things that Jungkook learned to appreciate and love over the time that he watched himself getting built.
Jungkook sighed and smiled as he shook his head. "Jimin, you can do that tomorrow. Just sleep for now okay? For me..?" The robot asked in a soft, quiet voice as he himself pouted like a hopeful little child.
Jimin gave in to Jungkook's persuasion and he eventually nodded as he wandered sleepily over to his temporary bed in which he had been sleeping in for about a month now. He lay down, instantly relaxing into the warmth of the blanket. Jungkook walked over after Jimin and he lay next to him, a soft smile on his soft lips. They often slept together, because Jimin hated sleeping alone. It made him feel unsafe, he needed someone or at least something next to him.
Jimin instantly returned the smile and pulled the robot closer, nuzzling his face into his warm chest and tangling his legs with the other. Jimin was a little clingy, to say the least, but Jungkook didn't mind. All he cared about was how Jimin felt. "Goodnight Kookie.." The older mumbled, his voice barely audible. Still, Jungkook could hear his hyung's sweet voice.
"Goodnight Jimin...Sleep well." Jungkook whispered as he stroked Jimin's hair soothingly, and both soon fell asleep in each other's presence.
