Sing Me To Sleep

Sing me to sleep,
Undisturbed and tranquil.
Let my world be you,
And let civilisations disappear.
Sing me a lullaby and paint the world a brilliant hue.

Be a home to me ,
For I have been an orphan for long,
In this earthen orphanage.
We will craft a world of our own,
Inside closed walls, warm and cordial.
Away from the frost of civilised barbarians,
We will be noble.

Grow me a garden of roses,
And teach me the language of subtle affection.
Instill in me the religion of beauty and goodness,
And I will be a believer.

I am stuck in this world
And the autumn's leaves remind me of my dead past.
Glorious gold withered dry and useless.
Only a souvenir from spring,
When life was tainted with joy
And everything glowed a golden hue.

But souvenirs remain not for joyful rememberance,
But as a reminder of lost beauty
And how things could have been.

So sing me to sleep,
Undisturbed and tranquil.
Let my world be you,
And let civilisations disappear.
Sing me a lullaby and paint the world a brilliant hue.
And make me believe in beauty again.
