Rebecca-

Will got home from school around noon. He was excited, it was his birthday after all. He came upstairs to my room when he got home.

"Hi, Beck." I smiled up at him and lifted my laptop off of my lap.

"Hey." His eyes glanced around the room. "Happy Birthday!"

"What'd you have to talk to me about?" Ugh.

"Oh. The plot thickened even more." He raised his eyebrows and sat next to me on the bed.

"Oh, really?" I nodded.

"Well, first of all, I'm fucking rich. Like, I really didn't know my parents had so much money, Will, and seriously, so much fucking money." He didn't seemed phased by this at all.

"Well yeah, Becca. Birch Industries was set to be a billion dollar company in five years..." Oh. So it really was just me who didn't know.

"Okay... Well. That brings me to my second point. I sold Birch Industries. Well, signing the papers this week."

"I also know, Mckenzie's dad is really worried about it, I guess." How did he even know that? It had never really crossed my mind at who this affected. In my head it was only me. This talk that I had been so worried about seemed to be easier than anticipated since I was the only one who was shocked or excited about all of the information.

"Oh. I guess I never thought about it like that." He looked at a text on his phone.

"It's okay. I'm sure it will all work out." He reassured me, setting his phone down.

"Also, I called Dawson. I had this weird urge to call Aidan, so I called Dawson because that's the second best I guess. It was nice."

"Good, Beck." He smiled and I smiled back. Will seemed happy but somewhat quiet, and I wanted to ask about Mckenzie.

"So what's been going on in Hollow Creek without me?" He smiled and moved his body closer to mine.

"Absolutely nothing. Didn't Kasey fill you in?" I shook my head, no.

"No. I got to her house pretty late. We stayed up for about ten minutes before going to sleep."

"Well. Nothing very new. Kasey and Adam Davidson are talking. Luke is so pissed."

"Well, he hasn't necessarily made a move in awhile either."

"That's what I told him!" He agreed excitedly. Luke and Kasey's relationship was extremely complicated. Around Sophomore year, they started liking each other. They kind of mutually knew and just ignored it, then junior year, they finally started going on dates and hanging out alone. They did this all year, never labeling each other or even kissing. It was very weird. The summer before senior year they hooked up at a party. That seemed to reignite something that had fizzled, and all of a sudden they seemed to be friends with benefits who refused to admit they were in love with each other. It was pretty rough. "I think she might just be doing it to piss Luke off so much he does something though." I nodded in agreement. "Last week Martin Vasen's party got busted. I had just left when it happened. His parents had to come home and everything..."

"So... you've been partying a little." He looked down at my comforter and played with it in his fingers.

"A little. I mean. Yeah... But you're here now. So it will be better. Everything will be better." He looked confident in this answer, like he had thought about it for a long time. It made me sad, but motivated to be better for Will. "So what do you want to do? Wanna go driving?"

"Like me drive?" I clarified. He nodded happily and smiled. His smile was perfect.

"Um. I guess we can try it." I answered warily.
