"staring at her isn't going to fix what you two have."

hyejoo looked up and saw one of her best friends, hyunjin standing over her. hyejoo sighed and looked back to where she was looking. "staring at her doesn't scare me as much as talking to her does," hyejoo answered.

chaewon was sitting across the room from them, her nose buried in a book as she read. her legs were crossed and some of her hair was put in a ponytail while the rest fell loosely around her shoulders.

hyunjin sat down across from hyejoo and blocked her sight. "i can't see," hyejoo said bluntly and hyunjin rolled her eyes. "no shit einstein. i sat here for a reason," she replied and hyejoo raised an eyebrow. "i'm tired of you sitting here and staring at her. if you want to do something about it then go talk to her. staring your life away won't get her back," hyunjin huffed and hyejoo sat back in her seat with her arms cross.

"she won't even look at me," she muttered and hyunjin let out a small sigh. "then get her attention. all i'm saying is your actions says a lot," the older girl spoke. she squeezed hyejoo's hand before walking to the door to meet her girlfriend, heejin. hyejoo stared at them as they walked out before looking back over to where chaewon was.

the blonde had yet to move from her spot, still engrossed in whatever book she was reading. hyejoo couldn't read the title from where she was sitting but chaewon looked like she was really enjoying it. from the way her eyebrows furrowed to the way she giggled a little, hyejoo continued to watch her.

she cocked her head to the side and placed a small smile on her lips. okay so maybe it was kind of creepy to stare but moments like these were the only times she could stare at chaewon. other times, the older girl was avoiding her. chaewon hasn't spoken to hyejoo in weeks, going on one month now.

hyejoo missed her. the way they used to have so much fun together. there was never a dull moment between the two, they always enjoyed each other's company. hyejoo's smile was quickly replaced by a frown as she soared through the memories between her and chaewon.

she ran a hand through her hair and let out a frustrated breath. she looked back over to chaewon and jumped slightly when they made eye contact. they stared at each other for a few seconds and hyejoo made the brave decision of waving. only to be shot down when chaewon only glanced at her hand and then proceeded to leave the library. hyejoo visibly deflated at the rejection.

god did she miss her.

"she's literally right there. go talk to her," yerim encouraged. chaewon rolled her eyes and took a few items out of her locker. "i'm not speaking to her and that's final," chaewon answered back in a stern tone. she closed her locker roughly and leaned on it.

"i know you miss her. you pretend like you don't but i see right through you," yerim responded and stood in front of chaewon. the older girl flickered her eyes up sharply to her friend's face. "she hurt me, yerim. don't you get that?" she asked and yerim nodded, "of course i do but do you honestly think it was intentional? hyejoo is a sweet girl, she isn't that kind of person."

"well if she wasn't that kind of person then she wouldn't have did what she did. i have class, i'll see you later," chaewon spoke and walked away from yerim. she passed by hyejoo's locker and glanced in the girl's direction to see that she was already looking at her.

chaewon rolled her eyes and continued walking.

"chaewon."

she stopped at the soft call of her name. she knows that voice. she hesitated in responding, wondering if she should just walk away.

"what?"

chaewon slowly turned around to face hyejoo. the younger girl was looking at her feet and wringing her fingers, a sign that she was nervous. she walked closer to chaewon but only far enough to where the older girl still had enough personal space.
