Tay's POV:

I watched Race as she frantically dug through her backpack for something to wear. We decided to get a room in a less than shitty motel and at the moment, my girlfriend was stressing out.

"What am I going to wear?! Oh, gosh!" She buried her face into her hands. I slid next to her on the bed and held her.

"Shh. Race, it's a video game company. Our 'formal attire' is a shirt, black jeans, a cardigan, and whatever shoes. That's as fancy as it gets. If you get the job, which I'm sure you will, you'll be wearing a T-shirt and jeans everyday." I could feel her mildly shaking. I held her tighter, but that did absolutely nothing. So, I did something that I thought would calm her. I softly kissed her neck. It didn't soothe her, it only aroused her. Unfortunately, we ended up having intercourse and she was approximately two minutes and fourty three seconds late to the interview. I sat at my station, writing down my observations on a new Mario game. I glumly checked the time on my digital watch every eight seconds. She'd been in the boss' office for two hours. I was starting to become worried and my brain was filled with unlikely 'what ifs'.

What if she died?

What if he's giving her some super long lecture for being late? ...Nah, Gary is pretty cool...Or is he?

What if he's raping her?

What if he's killing her?

What if she's killing him? Plot twist! Whoa!

"Hey, baby." I looked up. I smiled softly, full of relief when I saw that Race was back.

"Hey, love. How was the interview?" I asked. She looked down and bit her lip.

"I'll be back to get you later."

"No. I took the day off. I only came here to support you. I'm not working right now." I saw all signs of emotion leave her face. She drug me from my desk, into the parking lot, all the way to the car. She slammed the door shut.

"What the hell, Tay?! We can't afford for you to not be working!" she yelled.

"Baby, I just wanted to spend the day with y-"

"How selfish are you?! First, you make me late for my job interview. Then, you tell me that you've taken the day off! Look, Tay, we're not spoiled ass freshmen living off of our parents. We are eighteen years old. We ran away. We are trying to survive out here." I bit my lip.

"But-"

"I don't want to here your voice!" Race backed out of the parking lot and sped to our motel.

.-.

I crawled into bed alone. Race went out to get something. She sounded sad, but her face was one of guilt. She seemed to feel bad for yelling at me, but I wasn't really sure. I sobbed silently. I felt like I'd failed her.

Knock knock knock. Knock. Knock knock knock. I smiled a little. That was Race's and my secret knock. I walked to the door in my undies. I looked through the peephole. I unlocked the door and let her in. As soon as the door closed, she kissed me deeply. I wrapped my arms around her tiny waist. We just passionately kissed for awhile, before I began to smell a delicious aroma. I pulled away slowly.

"What's that smell?" I asked. She smiled.

"I got us Taco Bell. I used my money. I know we shouldn't be getting restaurant food, but, I wanted to treat you. I am so sorry for lashing out. I was just a bit stressed. But if it helps, yes, I did get the job. I start next week."

I squealed happily. I tackled her, kissing her. "Oh, Race! That's great!" She giggled and kissed me back.

"I love you, baby." she whispered from underneath me.

"I love you too, babycakes." She blushed, giggling. "C'mon. Let's eat."

.-.

I lie in her arms that night in a soft bed.

"Are you less sore now, dear?" I asked. I was concerned all day, knowing the car had put her in pain. She kissed my forehead.

"Mhm." she said, a yawn following not too far behind. I shook my head.

"Let's get some sleep." She squeezed my waist, making me giggle. She chuckled.

"Goodnight, baby." And with that, I drifted off into a deep slumber.

.-.
