Scarlet's POV
I woke up and quickly got dressed in my gray Abnegation dress. I brushed my hair, and washed my face. I put on my shoes and made my way with my father to the choosing ceromoney. When we got there we take the stairs all the way to the top of the hub. I took my seat next to Beatice Prior. She's my some what friend. We talk ocasionally during our classes, but now, we may never see eachother again. Liam and his family sit on the other side of me.
"Are you nervous?" I ask Beatrice.
"No, you?" She asks.
"No, im terrified, Liam?" I say.
"Im ok, i think" Liam says smiling.
We begin talking about random stuff until everyone is seated and ready. Abnegation is hosting the choosing this year. So my father gets up there and talks about the war, and each faction and what they value, then he starts calling names, in a random order.
"Niall Horan" He calls. A blond boy walks up and takes a knife, he cuts his palm and moves his hand over a bowl.
"Dauntless"
My father calls a few more names then...
"Louis Tomlinsion"
"Dauntless
"Zackery Huggs, Erudite" And other names.
"Zayn Malik, Dauntless"
Then...
"Liam Payne" He calls. Liam squeezes my hand reasuringly and walks up to the bowls. He cuts his palm, and i think he goes for the Abnegation bowl, but no...
"Dauntless" My father calls. Thats our first Faction transfer.
"Caleb Prior" He calls. I watch as Beatrice's brother walks up. He cuts his hand and then....
"Erudite" Everyone in Abnegation talks amongst themselves, Erudite has been posting Abnegation slander on the news, thinking that were now unfit to run the government.
"Beatrice Prior" I give her a small smile, she smiles back and walks to the bowls, she cut her hand and holds it over the Abnegation bowl...the blood doesnt fall...then at the last second she moves her hand to the Dauntless bowl, and it falls.
"Dauntless"
5 more names are called, then its me.
"Scarlet Eaton" Marcus calls smiling. I gulp and slowly make my way to the bowls, I grab my knife, a new knife for each person, and i dig it into my palm. I think...
I'm not Candor for sure, I cant be stuck here in Abnegation for ever, with Marcus...So before i regester what i'm doing, my hand is over the dauntless bowl, and the blood drops.
"D..Dauntless" My father stutters. Now everyone is talking about my choice, and the Dauntless roar will applause.
I grab the bandage and put it over my palm. I dont even bother sitting down, i was the last name called. I took one finnaly glance at my father, he shot me death glare. So i walked over to the Dauntless and they all began to run.
I was running next to Liam and Beatrice. We ran down the stairs and to the railroad. We climbed up these poles, then the train came. We all started running along side the train, soon everyone was on but me. I flung myself into the open train car. I sat next to Liam and Beatrice. This other girl came and sat by us, her name was Christina.
We talked until a girl came over to us saying to get ready. We all stood up. I looked out the door of the car, and saw the Dauntless jumping onto the roofs.
"They're jumping!" I call. Everyone walks over and looks, to see up in the front cars, the Dauntless were jumping onto a roof. I look behind me, and see scared faction transfers.
"Just jump" I tell them, then i see the beginning of the roof in my sights. I run and jump at the very edge of the car. I end up landing on my feet. I smiled and walk over to the group forming around the other side.
"My names Eric, and i am one of the many leaders of Dauntless, if you want to be apart of our society, you first have to jump, now i invite our faction transfers to go first...so who will it be?" Eric says with an evil smile. No one says anything. Well i did just jump out of a moving train.
"I'll go" I volunteer. Everyone looks at me.
"The stiff?" one of them scoffs. I roll my eyes. I walk over to the edge of the building and see a huge hole in the ground. I take off my huge Abnegation coat and toss it aside. I climb up on the small siding of the building and i jump.
When i jump i feel like im flying through the air. Like im free. Then i fall on my back on a huge net. I bounce for a few seconds then i'm still. I chuckled to my self. Then someone pulls down on the net. I roll to the side, and fall into someones arms. I look and see and guy of about 18, brown curls slicked back at the top, green eyes, and dressed in black skinny jeans and a black shirt.
"Did you get pushed?" He asks.
"No, i jumped" I said.
"Whats your name?" He asks. Im about to say Scarlet, but...i hesitate. He gives me the 'today' look and i say.
"Sam, my names Sam"
"Well Sam, welcome to Dauntless, First Jumper Sam!" He calls. Then he sets me down. I walk over to someone i faintly reconigize.
"Who are you?" I ask the brown hair 18 year old.
"I'm your instructor inicatide, the names Four" He says. But then he turns around. He gives me the once over and hugs me.
"Sis, I've missed you" He says. I hug him back.
"I've miss you to" I said.
"Good to see you sis" Four says giving me a one armed hug. I flinch and wince in pain.
"Sam?" He asks conerned.
"You just touch a bruise is all" I muttered.
"He still hit you?" He asked whispering in my ear. I nodded slowly.
"Well dont worry, your safe now, but you have to call me Four here, and no brotherly sisterly stuff during training, i am your instrutor after all" He whispered in my ear i nodded.
As Four went to help out the second jumper. Soon, after everyone had jumped Four and the guy stood up infront of us.
"Dauntless born go with Lauren, Faction Tranfers stay here." Four said.
"Welcome to Dauntless, I'm Four, I normally work in the control room but once a year i come and train the initiates, so im one of your instructors"
"Four like the number?" Christina asked. That was a bad move. Four snapped at her.
"Like Four said, Welcome to Dauntless, I'm Harry, another one of your instructors here at Dauntless, i normally work in the control room, but now im your instructor, (Then they led us through a door) This is wear you will be staying, now hurry up and get changed and go to the Caferteria" Harry said, then him and Four both walked out.
There was boys and girls in here so it was kinda awkward changing. Once we were finished we had to put our clothes in the incinerator. Then we walked to 'lunch'.
