Separation...

Weizhou was sure that he never hated a word more...

Carefully he put his finger on the map of China that was open on his phone. The distance between Beijing and Chengdu looked like nothing. Maybe half a finger. But reality was more cruel. 1500Km between them.

He sighed and rubbed his hands over his eyes. He felt so tired. But he knew that he wouldn't be able to sleep right now. It didn't matter how exhausted he was. Something was missing. Or maybe someone...

Weizhou shook his head and got up. He couldn't just sit here and wait. Nothing would happen tonight. No phone call, no touch, no kiss....

Jingyu had been in Chengdu for maybe a week now and Weizhou hated every minute of it. He was so used to having Yu around. Hearing his laugh, smelling his cologne, feeling his warm embrace. And now...

He was lucky if he would get a couple of texts here and there. They even managed to squeeze the rare phone call in. But it was nothing compare to having him here. To feel him, to touch him...

Weizhou sighed again and made his way over to the front door. He couldn't sit here and wait like a love sick puppy. Jingyu was working, for god's sake. He was not on holiday. Zhou knew that Yu wanted to be here with him. He missed his little tomcat the same way that Zhou missed his whale. But somehow this thought just made things worse for him...

He put on his shoes and left the flat that he had shared with Jingyu for the last couple of months. It was nothing special, but it was their safe haven. Where they were allowed to be themselves. Free, together...

The night was never dark in Beijing. Too many lights kept the night sky in a bright orange. There were some clouds in the sky which made the colour just more vibrant. It had started to rain in the afternoon and it didn't look like it would stop anytime soon.

Weizhou smiled. It was the perfect match for his mood right now. He felt like crying, and somehow the raindrops took this urge away. The sky cried for him. He shook his head again. Yu would mock him so badly for this thought. "You are so corny, man..."

The rain got worse by the minute and Weizhou decided to take shelter in one of the many pubs along the way. Beijing certainly didn't have a shortage of places to drown one's sorrows.

It was quiet dark inside. Some guys were sitting at the bar, sipping their beers, holding tight to their bottles. Weizhou looked for the most hidden spot he could find and sat down. Normally he didn't mind the fans and being recognised, but tonight he just wanted to be alone. Drinking and feeling sorry for himself.

He ordered some Baijiu and after he asked for the third shot the bartender just left the bottle with him.

Weizhou didn't know when this had started. He felt almost pathetic for missing Yu so much. He had always been a very independent person. He had friends, good friends and he loved his family, but due to his job he was used to seeing everyone who was near and dear to him just here and there. But with Yu it had been different right from the beginning. Zhou blamed it on the fact that their shared a bed right from the start. He just couldn't sleep without this warm body next to him. It was plain impossible.

He took another swing and the liquid burned down his throat. In the background he could hear people talking but he didn't really register anything. His thoughts were with Jingyu. He wondered how his day had been.

"Did he miss me? Did he even think about me?" He knew that these thoughts were silly. He knew that Jingyu loved him, but somehow he felt so defeated tonight that even these thoughts reared their ugly head.

His mind started to spin and suddenly he was not so sure that drinking was the answer to his melancholy. He paid and left the bar. The rain had settled down to a slight drizzle. Weizhou didn't mind it. Somehow it felt like the raindrops cleared his head. He didn't even try to hide from the rain. The water slowly ran from his forehead and he tried to catch one of the drops before they fell into his eyes.
