Pandora's Guide to the Universe

The year is 2018. That's our year, and nothing bad is happening in our year.

Now, let's skip ahead to 2021. Three years later. Now we've done that, let's place ourselves in England. The country is doing well for itself. After their infamous break from the EU, many countries followed suit. Eventually the EU could stand no more.

This is where our story kicks off.

Many feared war between European countries. Though they had found a less demanding partnership with their alliances, it became rocky. Many wanted different things to their neighbours. Many wanted what others didn't want.

Nobody intervened to help Europe. This was not a bad decision, however, as later many would come to forget about the war with something bigger lurking behind them.

You see, Jupiter had been caught in a separate gravitational pull and had slipped off its axis. In its travels it had knocked into Mars, sending the small planet hurtling across the solar system, narrowly avoiding Earth, straight into the Sun. This is what sparked international unrest. Everyone feared that soon Jupiter would give Earth the same fate.

Their fears, for the time being, were misplaced. Jupiter was only just caught by the snag of the Sun's gravitational pull once more and was orbiting once again. Though the Sun's strength was strong, Jupiter had slipped off its axis in the first place. If it was to once again do so, nothing was stopping it.

It took a year for the world to collapse internationally. Many began to turn to violence for answers. On August 7th 2022, the world officially goes to shit, and nobody has the power to stop it.

This survival of the fittest based lifestyle resumes for a painful 5 years. In February 2027, England gets their own system of apocalyptic societies called tribes. The main tribe is (UY) Scuti, a tribe created from parliament members that keep the law going strong. The second tribe created was (TON) 618, the tribe that we will follow throughout the story.

Many begin naming their children after celestial bodies and beings. One of these women is Athena Rose, who is sixteen when she joins (UY) Scuti from her home tribex (TON) 618 in 2027. It is also when she meets the supposed love of her life.

After the brief knock from Mars, part of the ozone layer was completely shattered. This caused radiation to leak through into the Earth's atmosphere. The land becomes inhospitable. The survivors are forced underground. Those who are fit enough to join tribes do, while others just work as commonfolk, helping supply the tribes.

It is a system that works, so the system becomes the way of life.

In February 2028, Athena realises she is pregnant with a child. In a torment, her true love runs to the surface and doesn't return. Heartbroken, Athena is cast out of the (UY) Scuti tribe and she returns to her home tribe, who welcome her back with open arms.

On October 27th, 2028, the twins Pandora and Rigel Rose are born. They prosper under the leadership of Nova, leader of the (TON) 618 tribe.

And that is where our story takes flight.
