Kyoka is sitting under the big beach umbrella they specifically bought for this beach trip.

She brings her knees to her chest and watches her classmates having fun in the water among thousand dins. Momo is fighting on Todoroki's shoulders against Midoriya and Uraraka and around them everyone else is helping one or the other couple by submerging the rivals with an endless rain of spurts - except for Bakugou, he's convincing Kirishima to be his mount because "it's not fucking possible that that shitty Deku and that half 'n' half bastard shove in their fucking heads the idea of fucking surpassing him", or some other curse of his.

The young girl refused every objection of her friends who tried to persuade her and make her go swimming with them, preferred staying in the shade bringing up the ordinary excuse of monitoring the bags and she also kept on her oversize purple t-shirt.

She's not even paying real attention to the music her cellphone is playing that moment and remembers she's using earphones instead of her lobe-jack only when perceives a light force turning her head towards left. Denki is resting his head on her shoulder and they're sharing together the blonde's head-phones.

«Mmh... Change song, please» the boy mumbles with drowsy voice. «Put the Fall Out Boy, wanna listen to them...»

The breath of the electric boy tickles her collarbone and her neck base and the brunette feels her stomach tighten; she looks like a little girl dealing with her first crush - fact that, although she persists denying it to herself, is true.

If she has to be honest, it floored her when the friend offered to stay and watch over their backpacks with her: him, who is the life of the party and never misses out the opportunity to paint the town red, himself, chose to remain away from the chaos and stay with her.

A little voice in her mind scolds her, disenchants her, tells her that Denki's reason is only the concern for his mates, because in the water he'd run the risk of letting himself go too much and accidentally electrocute someone. Inside him he'll be gnawing at the others like hell, everybody is having fun except him. Kyoka knows him well, she knows that his sleepy voice is only a facade: he'll be throwing any kind of curse towards Todoroki and Midoriya - come on, even against Mineta - because they can closely enjoy the view of girls in bikini.

The others in bikini, yeah.

Kyoka brings her knees much nearer to her bust. She's always been a very reserved person, but every time she thinks 'bout her body, shyness and sense of inferiority hit her like an avalanche. It's since middle school that she's been trying to repress these feelings and she has never managed it completely. Damn, she joined in the U. A. to become a hero who helps people in danger through her powers and skills, not through her beauty, right?

However, when her classmates let slip some compliment about the others, Earphone Jack cannot help but feel a little disappointed. Even Hakagure, who is invisible, gets more appreciations than her.

She has always been uncertain about this issue. In the heroes environment appearance is getting more and more relevance, both for male Pros and women: it makes gain fame among the fans and the agencies are more encouraged to recruit a hero who, besides skills, shows also a great success with the public. And she feels like not being special under this point of view.

Her conscience repeats her that this is a very, very stupid reasoning of her and that it skirts a new record of dumbness, but there's always that little voice that never shuts the fuck up and doesn't let her be.

It's also because of this that Kyoka wants to keep her t-shirt on. Taking it off would be like expose her personal and intimate insecurities to intrusive eyes, which shall know nothing about her.
