All organizations need effective leadership as well as effective communication, cooperation, and collaboration at all levels. These needs are even greater now than ever before, given the nature and extent of competition in what has become a global marketplace. More often than not, high-impact results are achieved by teams. I agree with Dawna Markova and Angie McArthur that there are almost no limits on what they characterize as "the transformative power of collaborative thinking" can accomplish. This is an extraordinary book. It's a masterpiece, really. The book contains many charts to help each person map their own Mind Pattern, and how to maximize that pattern for effectiveness in personal work and in collaboration with others. It helped me observe the way I think and pay attention, and I learned how to communicate more effectively with people who think differently. After reading this book, it strikes me that understanding how I and other people think and pay attention is an important first step towards creating an innovative and collaborative company. Once that happens, coming up with new ways to have meetings, gather feedback, make organizational decisions and create collaborative workspaces will likely be more effective. This book is a must-read for anyone who wants to learn how to collaborate respectfully and effectively. My rating for this book is 4/5.
