Interior of tavern was dimmed and you barely noticed shrouded in smoke faces. When you first came here guests were looking at you because you was the only woman around but every next time it looked more like curiosity why young woman like you was regularly visiting such place. When you came closer to a bar, sometimes you used to hear a men's whispers behind your back. The owner of tavern rubbed the table with a dirty rag and looked at you with a scowl.

Do you have it?

Deal is a deal. You whispered. You moved your hand on a table and emerged small package under material of your long cape. These herbs are stronger so your victims will fall asleep for enough time to be robbed.

You dragged me into risky business, young lady. These men out there are dimwits but if they notice that they're not losing coins because of their drunkeness, they will use their fists. Owner whispered, looking at the group of big men at the table.

Like you say, they're dimwits so don't bother. You answered with a smirk and you leaned closer to be more audible. And now where's the part of my loot?

Come to the back of tavern in two minutes. It's in the box under stairs.

You did what he said and then you looked around carefuly when you was outside. Owner handed you a watch on a chain and few coins.

Is it even gold one?  You asked him with irritated voice. It looks cheap.

I don't have a rich guests that often in my place.

Well, too bad for us both. I have family to feed as well. You sighed and put things in pocket under your cape.

Is your father better?

I'm a daughter of the medic but only herbs won't heal him. He needs some food. You said and shortly later you said goodbye to man. As you got mixed up in the crowd at the fair, you felt somebody's gaze on you. There were many people in dark clothes around but you sweared that a man in black coat just crossed the nearest stall.

Ms, do you have some black lilac today?  You asked a trader with eyes raised in depth of the street. Before woman answered you felt sudden touch on your arm. You put your hand under your cape where was hidden a small dagger. You turned around.

Who would have thought. Lady Violet is in town.

You rolled your eyes, seeing young man in cylinder.

So unexpected. You muttered, not even trying to sound polite. Man was a son of a wealthy customer of your father. He always bothered you since you turned seventeen, suggesting that you grow to become a comely lady. But the whole town knew that he was a gambler and womanizer with hidden, bad manners. You tried to walk away but he moved forward and smiled.

So unpolite after meeting an old friend. He said leaning on a table of stall. You narrowed your eyes.

Old? Oh, I thought you're only twenty two, sir. You answered. As you moved forward he followed you with pride and strong grip reached your hand.

Who do you think you're talking to? He whispered throught teeth. Sudden rattle of falling things interrupted your fight. Pumpkins from next stall rolled right on a feet of annoying, young man.

God dammit! he shouted, looking with anger at as surprised as him seller. Don't you know how to arrange your things on a stall, you silly, old man?!

I'm sorry, sir.

Right after young man moved backwards, he was attacked by suddenly agressive birds in cage. One of them peck his neck. You stopped your laugh and raised your gaze. It's like your eyes instinctively found a face of some stranger on the other side of stall. Your heart started beating fast and it felt like a mix of fear and excitement when he smiled at you with pride. He was few feets farer from you but his eyes were so inhumanly bright and beautiful that it made you frooze.
