~ Darcy ~
I stared at my reflection in the mirror. I had to look perfect. I was so ready to show off my new look.
Gone was the shy, coward from last year. I was a woman now.
My new dyed hair was the most noticeable change. I used to have awful brunette hair with a bad blonde ombre job. Also, I finally had my braces removed a few weeks ago.
I also didn't know a thing about makeup or fashion. This summer was my opportunity to work on myself.
I wanted him to notice me when I walked into the room. Before, he just saw me as the little shy girl at the back of the class. He won't anymore.
I've done a lot of growing up since first year.
Pleased with my reflection, I washed my hands and exited the girl's bathroom and headed back to the art room.
"Hey Beth, do you mind passing me the glue gun?" I asked Beth from across the art room as I slid into my seat.
She looked up from her work and looked around the room for the glue gun, when she realised it had been right next to her the whole time she laughed and passed it to me. "Love the red lip girl, honestly you had a major glow up over summer, I didn't recognise you when you walked into our room last week."
I simply smiled back at her and took the glue gun. "Do you think this is a bit weird what I'm making? Like, I know I only met him during summer, but I really think there's a connection between us." I said as I observed the creation in front of me.
"Darcy, it's only a birthday card. I'm sure he'd love it, whoever it is, I know I would." Beth smiled softly.
I smiled back and carried on making the birthday card. I appreciated her not asking who it was for. She knows it annoys me because I don't want her to know...not yet anyway.
I thought about him and how I wanted to spend every moment I could with him. He never told me he attended HATA so when I found out it was the happiest moment of my life. I would get to spend every second with him and I hoped he felt the same way about me.

The door to the art room flew open and the girl I hated the most walked in with her shadow. Scarlett and Lyla, the two girls who you should never get on the bad side of. I knew I had, especially with Scarlett.
"Get out." Scarlett said as she flung her bag on top of my desk, crushing the card I had just spent at least an hour making.
"What the hell Scarlett!" I said standing up in anger.
"Oh, my bad, did I ruin the love card you were making for your little crush." She lifted her bag up to reveal the card hadn't been that damaged, until she picked it up and tore it in half. "Well now I have." She smirked.
"What are you even doing in here Scarlett you don't even do Art." Beth said walking over.
"Yeah, but I do," Lyla said putting her hands on her hips.
"Why can't we just both use this room, it's big enough." I shrugged. As much as I didn't want to be in the same room with her, I needed to show that I was the better person.
"Aw sweetie, that's not how it works. Just because you've had a little glow up, doesn't mean you run this school. Now get out or I'll tell Mrs Harmen that you threatened to hurt me because you wouldn't give up the workspace." She said in a sickening voice that literally made me want to throw up.
I was about to argue back but Beth spoke first, "Come on Darcy, she's not even worth it."
I huffed and put my bag over my shoulder making my way towards the door.
"You forgot something!" Scarlett shouted, I turned back to see her holding the remains of my card, I went to grab them off her, but she dropped them into the bin and her and Lyla burst into a it of laughter. I rolled my eyes and stormed out the room.
What a bitch.

"Are you coming to dinner Darcy?" Beth asked as she pulled on a hoody.
I was sat at my vanity, touching up my makeup. I shook my head, "No, I'm not hungry." I simply said.
That was a lie, yes, I was hungry, but I had somewhere else to be.
"Okay, want me to sneak you something back for later?"
"Sure." I simply said, trying to focus on doing my eyeliner.
Beth sighed and exited the room.
I finished up my makeup and wandered over to my wardrobe. I pulled out a gorgeous black and white spot dress. It hugged me at the waist and showed off my cleavage. Perfect.
I pulled on some black heels and took one more look in the mirror before leaving my room.
Luckily everyone was in the canteen now, except I passed someone I hated on the way out of the dorms.
It was Lucas. We didn't say anything to each other, but as he passed, he looked me up and down, a confused look plastered on his face. Instead of turning away in embarrassment, I smirked at him and flicked my hair off my shoulder.
The sun was starting to set when I got to my desired location. We had texted earlier, agreeing to meet here.
I wasn't disappointed. There he stood, back facing me. He was looking over the balcony. The back of the school looked out on to a valley, so the views were breath-taking.
"There you are." I said as I stopped a few metres away from him.
He turned around, "Darcy...wow, you look beautiful." He said.
We'd never spoken to each other intimately before, and he had never touched me. We had met at an art summer school. He was taking the same class as me.
"Thank you, Alex, you look just as handsome as I remembered...Happy birthday, I'm sorry I did make you something, but it got ruined." I sighed and looked down at my feet.
His hand landed on my arm, and he followed it down to my hand, so that we were holding hands. "There's only one thing I want for my birthday."
A smile appeared on my face as I met his eyes. His gaze wandered to my exposed cleavage. His other hand went to my waist and suddenly I was pinned against the tree we were stood near.
A gasp escaped my mouth as he started kissing my neck. One hand was stroking my breast and the other grabbed my leg and wrapped it round him. He started to trail his hand up my thigh getting closer and closer to my pants.
I let out a moan as his tongue touched a soft spot on my ear.
This school year was going to be incredible.
