"Sixteen, Seventeen, Eighteen........" she continued counting the boxes while harshly brushing her hair. She just finished shower yet she is sweating all-over, but she didn't mind. All she wished at this moment is for her to finish all that she needs to prepare. If only she had the potential to do everything all at once to accomplish it as soon as possible she would have done it so. She really needs to hurry, otherwise she will be late.
" Cellphone, wallet, keys" .... she murmured as she checks the contents of her shoulder bag, just to make sure she doesn't forget anything before leaving.
After locking her apartment's door she immediately jumped inside her car, quickly switched it on and speed up. She's not feeling at ease while driving, whenever the road is not busy she takes the chance on checking her phone.
" Thank God" she felt relieved when she arrives at the venue.
As she stepped out the car, she was then cordially welcomed by the event coordinators.
"Good Day Ms. Yueyue" a warm greeting by one of them.
She responded them with a beautiful smile and went directly to the compartment of her AUV to unleashed the boxes of Mooncakes. The coordinators quickly assisted her.
. "MR. DYLAN WANG! Where the hell are you?!" He can audibly hear Lian's (Sunqian) shout in the other line.
"I'm on my way Babe, I just have to check the event. " he calmly answer while tucking-out his seat-belt.
As he stepped out his car, he smile brightly watching the children happily playing at the venue. Even though he is at a distance, he can clearly hear their genuine laughters. They were all full of mirth and enthusiasm. The twinkle in their eyes, the beam they wear and the excitement they feel, are all priceless. For him, there is nothing more worthwhile than seeing all of these. He never regretted the very day he visited the orphanage,thanks to Annie (SunHiyan) who urged him. After that, he visits them every month, and if his time allows. He even sponsors a party for them for atleast thrice a year, and he's been doing it for the past 2 years.
However,he cant be with them today, he has to attend the birthday party of his girlfriend's dad. He decided to watch them from afar because he knew he would find it difficult to say goodbye since he just came in a rush.
His eyes where roaming in the whole area to check if everything's fine but he stop at a corner when he spotted a familiar face.
He tried to remember who she was, "She must be Ms. Mooncake!?! " he mentally guessed.
His heart is pounding. Unconsciously stapled his eyes at her. He was amused and can't believe that a woman with a size of a kid can be as quick as a wink.
She is busy taking out the boxes of Mooncakes from her car.
"hmm.... So maybe it's really her" he is now more being convince of her identity. She wears a coral pink jumper, with a white ribbon in her hair which makes her really look like a kid. He slightly laugh.
He suddenly remembered the first time he tasted her baked goods, brought by their executive secretary Jackie(LiJiaqi). It's really mouthwatering. He literally becomes fond of it, especially her pineapple flavored Mooncake.
As a pilot, he always has the privilege to eat in all the best and most renowned pastry shops all over china,he even tasted all the brands of Mooncakes available in the market, but still, he keeps craving for hers. That is why it left him wondered what's the magic ingredient inside her masterpiece that made him indulge for it.
There is that time he brought it to the orphanage as a gift for the children and its no surprise that they were all gleeful after munching it. Every time he gets to visit them, they were all looking forward for that delicious delight. That's why, her piece is always included in the snack menu every Party.
Although he is her regular customer, they have never get the chance to formally met. Actually it's his choice, he had some personal reason for it.
He just order her goods through Jackie, she's Ms. Mooncake's best-friend. Good thing too is that Jackie can be trusted with concealed transactions.
In the case of the Events, he tasked one of the organizers to message him right after Ms. Mooncake is done delivering the pastries, that's his cue. He know he can't hide forever.But as of now he chooses to be unknown to her (again), for a very personal reason.
He dazed for a moment when he saw her slipped and all the boxes she carried had fell. He couldn't afford to see her that way,he wanted to help her right then and there. As he was about to approach her another familiar face came from somewhere and helped her. He was relieved,because neither of the children, the organizers, nor Ms. Mooncake should see him.
He looked at the guy who held and guided her, it's "Dr.Ethan Hu (Hu YiTian)"he quickly recognize it. He knows Dr.Ethan very well because they have a lot of common friends.
He invited him to give a free check-up for the children, but since he wants to remain unrecognizable he asked Jackie to contact the doctor for the event.
After looking at them and making sure that Ms. Mooncake is safe, he then again glance at he venue to assure that everything is fine.
Since its all well, and the program is about to start he decided to leave.
