Whispers at Midnight

"Oh um hi."

It was the start of the new school year. It was a new school that just opened during the summer. Suga looked around and saw a few friendly faces he remembered from the audition for the school. He walked over to them and hesitantly spoke.

"Hey. Kim Namjoon, right?" Suga said, questioning.

"Yea, I'm surprised you remember. Your Min Yoongi, correct?" Namjoon asked, followed by a nod from Suga.

Suga looked at the other two people behind Namjoon. One of which he had spoken too and the other he's never seen before. He waved at them, consciously. He didn't remember the other ones name so he'd rather not speak to him.

"So have you met your new roommate yet, Namjoon?"

"Yea actually I have. He's right over here. This is Jeon Jungkook."

"Ohhhh so your the other guy. You seem really young though." Suga said and chuckled a little. "Probably be the Maknae no matter what group your put into."

"Um h-hi Yoongi. Nice to meet you." Jungkook waved at him and smiled.

Suga turned to the third person and started talking. "Ok I remember talking to you at the audition I just can't remember your name, sorry."

"Oh no it's fine. My name is Kim Seok-Jin, but you can call me Jin," the male smiled at him.

"You seem to be acting a bit nicer than usual, Yoongi," a mysterious voice came from behind him. Yoongi turned around and saw him.

"Oh hey Jimin! Nice to see ya again." Suga responded to Jimin.

"Yea it's been what, 2 years? How's life been treating you? You aren't as emo as you used to be." Jimin let out a small laugh and looked at Yoongi's friends. "See ya finally made some friends."

"Ok I'm not as emo as I used to be-" he was cut off by Namjoon.

"I wouldn't be so sure of that. At the audition he was wearing all black and sang and danced to a very depressing and emo song-" he started laughing.

"Ok can we just drop how emo or non-emo I am and go find our dorm rooms?"

All four of his friends laughed a bit and followed Yoongi to wear the boys' dormitories were. He went over to where his room was and the door was already open. I guess my roommate is already here, Yoongi thought.

Once he walked inside, he saw him. His new roommate. He was bent over unpacking his boxes as Yoongi walked over to him.

"Um hi, I'm your roommate. My name is Min Yoongi."

"Oh um hi, my name is Jung Hoseok." He smiled lightly at Yoongi, and kept unpacking the boxes.

Yoongi waved hesitantly at him and started unpacking his own items. He occasionally took quick glances at the younger one.

Once they were both done unpacking there materials, the boys were just sitting on their own beds. Hoseok got to pick his bed first since he got here before Yoongi. The latter was laying on his bed with headphones in and scrolling through Instagram. He missed his old friends but knew he'd make new ones, he just didn't want to lose touch with his old friends.

The younger was doing something similar. He wasn't listening to music, however. He soon stood up and looked over to Yoongi.

"Hey um maybe wanna go hang out? Get to know each other??" Hobi asked hesitantly and smiled a bit.

Yoongi took his headphones out and nodded with the reply: "Yea sure." He stood up and stretched.

They both put their phones in there pockets and walked off. There wasn't much to do on campus. They were allowed to leave, Hoseok denied leaving campus, however. He still didn't feel as if it was right to leave campus, though it was.

They soon made there way to the courtyard in the center of campus and sat at a table. Yoongi looked around, seeing if he could spot his friends from earlier. Surprisingly, he managed to spot Jeon Jungkook.

Jungkook could sense someone looking at him, so he turned to see Yoongi not that far away. Once Yoongi knew that Jungkook saw him, he waved him over. Hoseok turned around and saw who he was waving to. Jungkook gladly joined them and introduced himself to Hoseok.

"So where's Namjoon, Jungkook?" Yoongi questioned.

"Oh he's out with Jin and Jimin. I can't remember where they went though- I was following them and then lost them and they didn't care to come back and look for me, and here I am!" Kookie chuckled lightly and slid his phone in his pocket as he had been fidgeting with his case ever since he sat down. He was clearly a bit shy, but both Yoongi and Hoseok found it cute.

The three of them decided to go to the on-campus cafe to get some coffee. As they were walking, Yoongi accidentally bumped into someone and looked down at the shorter male.

"Oh um I'm sorry-" Yoongi spat not knowing what else to say. The smaller one shrugged and just walked off, not caring about what just happened.

The boys reached the cafe and ordered there preferred type of coffee. All of them sat in silence for a few moments, sipping there coffee, until Hoseok spoke.

"So where you all from?" He turned to look at Yoongi, then to Jungkook.

"Oh well I'm from Daegu. What about you, Hoseok? Jungkook?" He turned to them and Jungkook spoke first.

"I'm from Busan!" He smiled brightly, clearly proud of where he was from. Both of the others smile at this action of the maknae's. "So where are you from Hoseok?" Jungkook asked the older.

"Gwanju. It's not as popular of a city. Busan and Daegu are more popular though." He shrugged and took another sip of his coffee as well did the others.

After about an hour of restless talking from the three new friends, and they were done with there coffee, they all decided to go to their dorms as it was getting a bit late, and they had there first classes tomorrow.

They all stood and Yoongi and Hoseok waved bye to Jungkook, as they started walking away. They walked to their dorm in silence, as they had nothing much to talk about anymore. Once they got there, they both flopped down onto there beds and yawned.

Yoongi stood back up and sighed. "I'm gonna go take a shower, be back in 10 minutes." He grabbed some clothes from his dresser and headed to the bathroom.

After he was done with his shower, he walked out of the bathroom with sweatpants and a loose white t-shirt on. He hair was a mess but it quite cute, Hoseok thought.

Hobi was sitting up in his bed on his phone waiting for Yoongi to get out. Hoseok went to take a shower, and by the time he was out of the shower, Yoongi was fast asleep in his bed.

Ok so I think this was pretty good? Tbh while writing half of this, I'm listening to a playlist on Spotify I named "Issa whole 🅱️op" so yea- 'hope' ya liked this installment of "Whispers at midnight".
