Writhing in pain Jalila had to make a decision, either stick with her innocence and get herself killed slowly or admit to being a person she's not, both of which aren't in her favor but no! death wasn't an option.

Another fist came crashing into her mid section then another and another until she went blank. The lieutenant's patience was fast thinning out he needed quick answers but his brutal extraction methods had rendered jalila comatose. He realized she wasn't moving which only further infuriated him. He splashed a cup of cold water to her face, vigorously shaking Jalila until she jerked indicating she was conscious again.

" Do you think you can just go off on me like that? Oh no! no! no!! You don't get to die until I say so! Until I give you permission to die! I won't allow you die now not until you tell me what I need to know."

Lieutenant Gana kept a tray of tools on a stool. Scissors, needles, scapula and more laid neatly arranged on the tray. Jalila's eye bulged, she had no idea what the tools were for but for a fact she knew she was the reason they were there.

Lieutenant Gana unhooked the lock adjoining jalila's chain and the ceiling, down she went slamming the hard ground with full force because she couldn't carry her own weight.

"you tell me what I need to know and I can make all this go away" the smug look on his face only reiterated how serious he was. He backed away tentatively, carefully observing the tools before him.

"let me tell you a story" he started repositioning the tray now very close to Jalila. He knelt close to Jalila then picked a scapula carefully observing its gentle glint in the dimming sunlight as If to notice something. "...a man was once caught at the lake Chad basin, his entire village ransacked, everyone he ever knew or loved killed, he was tortured by the joint task force. They had his legs tied to a pole upside down with burning coal directly beneath his skull, every day he'd be made to lay on tar under the scorching hot maiduguri sun by 2pm while facing it. Each day they'd beat him so bad he'd pass out from pain, but the same pain that took him out will bring him back, he was just as good as a punching bag to them no more. They mutilated and dehumanized him in every possible way they could without allowing him die, he prayed, he begged!, that he be killed but they refused, finally they buried him neck deep in a grave such that only his head was above ground with black scorpions revolving, stinging him. But that wasn't enough, one of them had to pluck his earlobes off leaving him there to die... "

It was at this point jalila's mind registered everything.

"... And do you know what all that suffering was for? Because he was at the wrong place at the wrong time but they wouldn't agree. Do you know who that man was?" he asked rtheorically, spreading a mischievous grin on his face. Jalila stared at him in disbelief, only then did she realize he had no earlobes.

"yes you got it right, that person is me! I joined the sect to avenge my family, my friends. I've known pain far worst than you could ever imagine so it's my time now to give the world a dose of that feeling, but you're standing in my way. How? You'd ask I'm sure, because if Abu-Qaqa should ever know my plans then I'm doomed. So if you don't tell me what I need to know it will get very messy for you and my favorite part is you don't get to die until I say ...."

In one swift motion jalila picked the scissors, driving it straight into his jugular with all the energy she could muster before falling to the ground. He fell off balance clutching his neck with his left hand. Gana pulled the scissors out before attempting to keep pressure on it but the crimson liquid gushing out of the deep laceration was in defiance.

Staggering, Gana made it to his feet with his left hand still to his neck and a knife in the right, his white robe almost completely drenched in blood. He made for jalila, on seeing this Jalila tried to make a run for it but only succeeded to land a few steps when her body protested. Pain shot up in every vein in her body, thirst and hunger had taken hold of her, instantly she fell to the ground. She'd exhausted every last drop of energy in her.

Lieutenant gana's attempt at speech was futile, all he did was mumble from a jagged throat. As he staggered his way to Jalila, she knew without doubt that this was indeed her end, but at least she didn't go down without a fight at least she fought back. Even if she was going to die which she was, at least she wouldn't die a liar or admit to a crime she never committed. It gave her mind peace, she pasted a sad smile on her face and closed her eyes, awaiting her fate.

Paw...! A shot rang, instantly making Gana's body crash against the concrete floor with a thud sound.

Jalila watched his body drown in his own pool of blood before turning to the source of the shot. Her eyes went wide In disbelief, she couldn't believe who stood there before her, the person behind the trigger.
