Cold wind blew against the blue raincoat of a small child with auburn hair and sea green eyes by the name of Christopher. He continued to walk home as the rain poured, cold and harsh. Though it was a short walk from the school, he'd felt as if he were walking forever. The gray skies dim and the clouds were menacingly hanging in the grim sky.
Christopher wasn't but halfway home, when he noticed an open door to the Lee residence, although, they should have been at the school picking up their son, Axel. Axel and Christopher were the best of friends, and had been for a long time.
The door was creaking in the wind, and Christopher walked up the driveway to close it for them. He walked all the way up onto the porch and reached for the handle. Before his hand grasped the doorknob, the door slammed shut, though no one had touched. "Must be the wind," Christopher told himself, but he didn't believe a word of it. The wind was blowing the other way. It shouldn't have slammed, and he let that sit in his conscience.
Christopher began to walk down the driveway again, when he heard a blood-curdling scream, accompanied by a series of piercing shrieks that seemed to get closer and closer to the door.
All of a sudden, the door burst back open, and out came running was Axel, covered in thick, red blood that oozed from the multiple gashes that tore through both his flesh and his shirt which was ripped to shreds and stained red. His face was white as a ghost.
"Christopher... Run..." Axel faltered, choking on his own words, "C'mon Chris..." Then he dropped into the cold wet pavement of the road. Christopher screamed. The darkening blood pooled in the street of which he stood. From inside the house came a low rumble, and every window on the block shattered as a ear-bleeding ring filled the sky. Christopher watched in terror as the house emitted a purely blinding light. The ringing was unbearable, and Christopher tried to shield himself from the light, but to no avail. The light seemed to be everywhere. And the air was filled with blinding white. Christopher began to see spots. Then, all was normal, the ringing had stopped, the light gone, and Axel had vanished.
