I woke up to the sound of my parents arguing with each other. I got out of bed and picked up a Tshirt off the ground. It smelled clean so I put it on and threw some jeans on with my varsity jacket. I walked out of my room and into our small kitchen. I noticed my mom had been crying but she covered her face when she saw me. They both stopped yelling and stared at me.
"Go to school Dan!" My dad yelled.
I grabbed my empty backpack and left without saying a word. My parents fight about something new everyday so I'm used to it. I overheard them fighting over the car. I walked to Jimmy's house just down the street and he gave me a ride to school—he didn't really have a choice. I've gone to school with Jimmy for as long as I can remember. Our moms were friends so our friendship was practically forced in middle school. Now, he thinks we're friends but he drives me to school and does my homework and that's it.
"Where's my homework?" I asked.
".... It's in my backpack" he stuttered. After five minutes of driving we finally got to school. I made him park really far so nobody would see me getting out of his car—I had a reputation to keep. I snatched my homework from him and walked into school when I saw Britney standing at her locker. Britney and I have been together for a while now. She's really athletic—just like me—and she's super hot. I noticed two guys were standing by her locker so I walked up to them and grabbed her arm as she dropped her books.
"Get lost!" I shouted to the two guys as they ran to class.
"Hey, you're going to the party after the football game tonight, right?" I asked her loosening my grip on her arm.
"Only if you pick me up" she said nicely as she picked up her books.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I'm back! It's been a really long time but I finally decided to publish this short story I wrote for my writing class.
