Suga ran.

He fled down the brightly lit hallways, past the polished marble floors, and straight out the gold embroidered doors. His feet pounded against the white concrete with every step as he desperately put distance between him and the haunting piano. His lungs filled and deflated with the cold air of the night as he ran further.

He ran past the large fountain, not sparing a glance at the three statues in the center. His feet took him through the open gates that lead to the courtyard. He ran past the rows of statues representing Gods and Goddesses, feeling like their eyes were all set on him.

He only slowed when he found himself back at the fountain with Pegasus at the center.

He huffed, doubling over as he tried breathing out of his nose only to steady his erratic breathing. He lowered himself to sit on the ledge of the fountain, his chest falling heavily with every intake of air. He had run harder and faster than he ever had and it was completely exhilarating. He felt like his lungs were on fire, but it was comforting in a weird way.

It made him feel alive.

This part of Olympus seemed almost abandoned, forgotten from all the bright lights and polished marble. The fountain he sat at was a little worn down, the water obviously having not moved for years. Pegasus in the center was a little rusted from age, but it was still a beautiful place with a kind of eerie vibe.

The small shed that held the portal to the Underworld was only a couple meters away from him now, hidden away from sight in the small vicinity of a room. He could take it if he wanted to, right back to the Underworld and never look back. He could disappear and no one would spare a glance in his direction.

No one would even remember his insignificant presence.

JHope's bright smile crossed his mind and he groaned, leaning forward to rest his elbows on his knees. His mind reeled as the sound of JHope calling his name flooded his senses again. Desperately, he clutched the sides of his head between his hands, squeezing his eyes shut.

Flashes of the memory started drifting back to him and he shot to his feet, wildly looking around him as if he could confront the thoughts head-on.

But the small center was completely empty, leaving him alone with just his intrusive thoughts. His gaze fell on the open field in the distance and his feet began to move in that direction. Under the moonlight only the brightest colored flowers shone in the dark and he knew he would be hidden as well.

He lowered himself into the grass, feeling the soft rustle as the wind blew around him. He had wanted to run straight back into the shed and back to the Underworld, but now he wanted to stay a while and think in this field. There was something calming about the firm, but gentle press of grass against his back.

It was incredibly quiet here and it calmed his mind. Hesitantly, he allowed the events of the day to slowly drift through his mind as he thought about each one. It was a long, draining day filled with plenty of surprises that he wasn't prepared for. He could handle the news of Zeus wanting to select a successor, but to be one of the potential seven candidates? That was just so completely mind blowing that he didn't know how to wrap his mind around it. He definitely wasn't ready for that type of responsibility.

He stared up at the sky with stars scattered across it so densely. He had never seen stars like this before. The books that he studied about astronomy and universes native to mortals didn't do the night sky justice. Out here, in the darkness, with only the bright moon above him, he could see every twinkling star clearly.

And the moon. Its brightness shone as bright as lights.

His mind reeled once again as he stared up at the moon and this time he readied himself. The moon's light suddenly transformed into a different type of light. A spotlight.
