I went out to get the Friday mail like i always do, but today's mail was quite different. When I was looking at the mail I saw something rather odd. There was a letter that was addressed to me, it was weird, 1 because hardly anyone sends letters anymore (not even my grandma) and 2 it said my full name on the front. In the middle it said, " To Ms. Ella Anderson at 8401 Hartan Drive Nerra, England."

When I checked the other mail I saw that my twin brother Elliot had gotten the same letter. I took in the letters to show my brother. Our mum worked long shifts at the local animal hospital so I spent most of my time with my brother and I don't usually bother my mum about things like junk mail.

I called for my brother from the bottom of the stairs and yelled up, " Elliot come down here please!"

"Just a second let me finish this page in my book." He answered unenthusiastically.

I had heard that excuse so many times before I knew that meant 50 more pages unless you come and get me yourself. Don't get me wrong i had used that excuse as many times as my brother, but he means I'll really come down when I finish the book, but when I say it I mean I'll come down when I remember I was told to come down.

"Elliot, don't make me come up there and get you!" I threatened. " This is important!"

"Calm down I'm coming," he said walking down the stairs.

I handed him his letter and he took it and just looked at it.

"Well aren't you going to open the bloody thing?" I asked him. I wanted Elliot to open it first in case it was a stupid prank from our obnoxious neighbor Duncan.

"Yeah, yeah I'm opening it," he said rolling his eyes. He opened one end and suck his thumb in the small opening of the envelope and slid his thumb over to break the seal. He read the letter out loud, " Mr. Elliot Anderson we are glad to inform you that you have been excepted to study at Hogwarts: School of Witchcraft and Wizardry for the next seven years." After he read it he just looked at me. " You can't think this is real can you? It has to be from Duncan. That little twit!" he cursed.

I gave him a weird look, " I don't know Elliot... it looks pretty real."

"This bloody letter can't be real it says they teach magic and magic CAN'T be real. It's impossible!" Elliot replied sternly.

I sighed and nodded, "Ok, fine just try and keep your mind open. We'll just ask mom about it when she gets home."

"Fine, but we aren't done talking about this. Anyway do you want to watch some football?" He asked irritated.'

I took in a deep breath, "Sure."

We went and sat on the couch waiting for mom to get home.
