"Hey, what is a beautiful creature such as yourself doing in a dump like this?" a man, probably in his thirties, asked me. He was wearing black pants and a black dress shirt matched with a red tie. He had his hair pulled back with gel and you could tell it was getting thinner. He looked at me with lustfull eyes. I watched him as he lifted his hand and touched my cheek. I pulled away from his touch, "I'm not interested, please leave me alone." I turned my head away from him and ordered another drink.
I was sitting on a stool in my favourite bar, Possibilities. It had a rustic look to it, a large, semi-circle, wooden bar, black bar stools and small tables scattered around the room. Behind the bar was a large, green wall that had a TV hanging from it, broadcasting a volleyball game. There were nearly 30 bottles filled with alcohol on display. I took another sip from the whiskey I just ordered and took another look around. There was a couple sitting at one of the tables and a businessman at the bar, three places next to me. The bartender, a beautiful young woman with curly hair that was pointing in all directions, greeted another customer that had just walked in. She was tall, with long dark hair flowing over her shoulders and down her back. She wore a beautiful, navy blue dress that had a tight fit and that left little for the imagination to figure out. I saw her look around the bar and her eyes fell on me. A smirk replaced the gentle smile she was wearing just seconds before and she sat down at one of the unoccupied tables, after ordering a drink. I turned my attention away from her and instead focused on my drink.
I had just finished it when another found its way in front of me. The bartender gave me a sly smile and handed me a note.
"Want to join me for a drink?"
Is what it read. I search for the person who sent me the note, along with the drink, and saw the breathtaking woman look back at me with playful eyes. I nodded to the bartender and gave her a smile before I got up to sit with the woman. As I sat down I glanced up at her, trying to get a little sneak preview of the person I was about to engage with. She appeared to be in her late twenties, the same age as I was. Being as close to her as I was, I could see the colour of her eyes. A beautiful green that reminded me of the forest I used to go to when I was a kid. I would always escape to that place whenever my parents had another argument. It was my safe haven. I get the same safe feeling when I look into her eyes.
"My name is Victoria, how are you?" she said when I finally sat down in front of her. Her voice sounded as sweet and comforting as I thought it would and it made me relax at once. "I'm okay, how about yourself?" I asked her in return. "I'm alright. I had a bit of a rough night so I'm looking for a little fun. Think you might know somewhere or someone to have fun with?" Victoria asked me. She had a flirty aura around her as she tried to look at me with a sweet and innocent face. I looked at the clock, 03.45. I reverted my eyes back to Victoria's and said I knew someone to have fun with. She glanced at me through her eyelashes and asked for the bill. The bartender brought it, but instead of checking what she owed, Victoria threw a twenty-dollar bill on the table and got up, grabbing my hand and pulling me up in the process.
We went to her house and she got out a few bottles of alcohol and started pouring us several glasses. I downed them all right away and felt the alcohol take over, glad to feel the burning in my throat as I prepared for what was coming tonight. Victoria, too, downed her drinks and suggested we play a game of never have I ever.
I awoke to the rays of sunlight shining through the curtains and the little birds singing their songs. The bed I was in was a king-sized bed with soft sheets and a warm blanket that was covering half of my body. I turned around and saw Victoria was still asleep. Not wanting to waste any time, I got up and started dressing in the clothes I had worn the night before. I silently sneaked out of the apartment and walked onto the street. After buying breakfast in a small local supermarket, I went to the place I spend most of my time.
"Welcome back" the bartender smiled at me.
