BEYOND THE MONSTERS

Monsters

I spent the whole night researching people turning into monsters. I had so many questions that got unanswered. Mostly because I was in shock and that fact that Anika seems kind of scary. I mean she did kill that monster all by herself. I yawn, I have spent nearly six hours reading on my holoputer (computer). I sigh as a rest my head on my desk in my room. The clock reads 11:00 p.m and I have to get up at 6:00 a.m tomorrow because my brother has a game against some other collage. I decide to go to bed and as soon as I hit my bed the world turns black.

The next day

I wake up and I realize it's 5 in the morning. I sluggishly get out of my small bed. I walk down the colorful hallway to only find that I am the only one awake. My stomach grumbles, unhappy stomach or unhappy cousin. I think I will chooses unhappy stomach. I get dressed quickly and walk out the front door with a new accessory, my kitchen knife.

Later

When I get to the universty I look around to see if their are more teachers about to turn into monsters, there are only students. My watch says that I am 30 minutes early and I look around for a place to sit. I brush past people as I make my way to a bench next to the doors. I stop as soon as I see a huge man at least 6 tall. He is watching some sports show or something. I really don't want to sit there, I am about to turn when I see that my cousin is right behind me. How did he even get here so quickly? "Where are you going short stack," he says menacingly. I really don't want to get my bit kicked again by him. "I was just leaving," I say quickly. I rush past him but he grabs the back of my hoodie before I can leave. "I think you should get some respect," he says. Two of his buddies come behind my with their fists raised. I try to run but they cut my off. A circle has gather around us and everyone is screaming "fight, fight, fight." Should these people know better? We're in collage, not high school, but this is a police school. Half the classes are just on fighting. Well this just so great I think as I sigh. Next thing I know I feel a fist in my face. Magellan's "friends" hold me down while he punches me. Just as I think all hope is lost I hear a small voice "STOP." "Let him go." I see a young girl with wavy sliver hair walk up to my cousin. Anika starts yelling at him to stop what he is doing. The other two boys runs away and all the people who were screaming fight swiftly walk away. Why are they scared of her, she's just a little girl. Well, she did defeat that monster. "Or you will do what," my cousin says with a smirk on his face. He punches her so hard she falls over. If looks could kill Magellan would be dead. Her eyes glow red and she rises off the ground. Then, in a dark and demonic voice she proceeds to say "You will pay for this, I will kill you body and curse your soul." Then she drops to the ground laughing as Magellan runs away as fast as he can. "What was that," I say scared. What even is she. Is she a monster? Anika stops laughing and staring at me. "You are lucky I was here, you brother has a very bad mind," she says. "Try not to get yourself killed today," she says as she walks into the building. "I would have to have to clean you up." She starts laughing again like the thought of cleaning me up was somehow funny to her. She really is a monster.

Anika POV

I winced as I hear the last part of his thoughts. Really is a monster. Is that what he thinks of me? I have done nothing but help him. Get over yourself Anika, it doesn't matter what other people think about you. I hate being called a monster, I am nothing like those freaks. My mother's voice plays through my head. You are a disgrace to your family, you're lucky I even let you live. You monster. I sigh and put my keycard into a spot in the wall. The wall opens up and reveals a meeting room. Ace and Rock are already here. I get ready for yet another meeting about what to do about the watcher.
