"Darling, you look perfect tonight..." he whispered as we pulled our lips away. He kissed me again but this time its on my forehead.

"Ma'am, here's your black coffee. Ma'am?" I snapped back to reality and looked at the guy who interupted my thoughts. Should I thank him? He saved me from crying.
"Thanks. Here's the payment. " I said at tuloy-tuloy akong lumabas ng coffee shop na parang lutang.
That song playing inside bringed back those memories I buried almost 3 years ago.
I can still recall every smile, laughter, hurt and sting of loving him. How it felt like to be in his embrace and how we ended up like this.
I know Rex was never mine, but losing him broke my heart.
We are freshman back then, Rex courted me at di katulad ng ibang nanliligaw sakin naging komportable na agad ako sa kanya. Hindi ko namalayan na nahuhulog na pala ako.
Rex helped me to forget my problems na para bang hindi iyon ganoon kabigat. He taught me how to be brave, to take risks and also to break some rules just to be with him.
Until I felt him slowly being distant from me, wala namang problema pero alam kong may hindi siya sinasabi sakin.
Nawawala siya at bigla ulit siyang babalik. I was confused of his actions but I believed every word he said.

After that he asked me to be his date in our Students Night, I said yes of course dahil gusto kong siya ang kasama ko. I thought we are okay then, but after that night hindi ko na siya ulit nakausap at nakita man lang.
Ang sabi niya lang, "Wala. Nagsawa na lang talaga ako sayo non, tol. Hindi kita minahal talagang umasa ka lang."
Rex played me but i don't believe him. Hanggang sa inamin sakin ng kaibigan niya ang totoo. Pinagseselos lamang daw siya nito at wala itong pakeilam sa akin. May bago na din daw ito kaya kalimutan ko na lang siya.
Pagkatapos noon halos gabi-gabi akong umiiyak, hindi din ako pumapasok dahil di ko siya kayang makita. He was known for being a playboy pero hinayaan ko pa rin ang sarili kong mahalin siya but i don't have to regret anything, all I did was all my decision and that includes loving Rex.
Ngunit dumagdag pa sa sakit na nararamdaman ko ng pinagtabuyan ako ng tinuring kong mga magulang pero wala akong nagawa kundi ang umalis.
Hindi ko na alam kung saan pa patungo ang buhay ko. Everythings messed up. Until a stranger gave me help, he found me crying alone, miserable in the street. He said everythings going to fall together again na para bang alam na alam niya ang susunod na mangyayari.
He's broken too and its funny that he advice me things he should have said to himself and even though I didn't told him the reason but he knows what to say.
Im thankful he came.
Pinatuloy niya ako sa tinitirahan niyang apartment and when I woke up I saw a sticky-note he says I can stay in his apartment and he also leave the key.
Sobra akong nagulat dahil di pa niya ako ganoon kakilala but still he helped. But after that day I didn't saw him again, I want to find him but i dont know his name either. Only his initial's on the note RHC.
After that long walk I finally arrive to my destination, my apartment.
Hindi na ako nagulat ng makita ko si Viel Migs sa labas wearing his iritated expression.
"Kanina pa kita hinihintay dito Kassie. Tinatawagan kita di mo naman sinasagot. Akala ko napano ka na naman." nakapamewang nitong sabi.
"Relax. Nagpahangin lang ako." I said while opening the door.
"At saan ka naman magpapahangin dito sa Manila? Would you mind telling me at pupuntahan ko. Nakipagdate ka lang kamo. " He said with sarcasm habang sinusundan ako sa kitchen.
"Viel Migs. You're my cousin and not my bodyguard. Haha" I said habang umiinom ako ng kape.
"Your Cousin and Your Proffesor." madiin nitong sabi. Sigurado akong papagalitan na naman niya ako.
"Hindi ka na naman pumasok. First week pa lang may record ka na sa guidance. Eto na naman tayo. You are a Graduating Student so know your priority Kassie. Vacation is over." I knew it.
"Im very sorry Sir. Papasok po ako basta ba susunduin mo po ako Sir." I looked at him and grin while saying Sir with emphasis. Napabuntong hininga na lang siya. So cute!
"Ano pa nga ba. I'll fetch you tomorrow then. 7 am sharp. No more k-dramas for today." Hinablot niya bigla ang kape ko at siya ang umubos.
"Migs akin yan!" but he just chuckled and patted my head.
"I'll go now cousin." he bid and went out of my apartment. I heard his car engine starts then its gone. Napangiti na lang ako sa kulit ng pinsan ko na yun.
Yes, Rex left me. I loved him so much that i lose everything but I found myself again, even those people I can count on to.
This time no more sleepless nights. After all i'm stronger now. Kassie Pie Mateo.
