Crossing Connor Lines

Drip. Step. Drop. Step. Drip. Step. Drop. Step.

I was soaked from the heavy pour of rain. I no longer felt cold, really my tiredness was controlling my mind. I lifted my head to see the washed out town I saw everyday. In the brochure it said "SUN. FUN. THAT'S ALL YOU'LL GET IN CONNOR LAKE!" in large bold and italic-ed blue writing.

Otherwise I would've ignored the utter law, they lied and said that it was sun. It never was sun. It was a beautiful town and all, but boring, and very unimaginative.

I looked up once more; to see the black and white worn condo I lived. It was a house not a home, no one could deny that.

As I approached the house, with my small cautious steps, I already head shouts from inside.

"You're never around!" Anger was evident in Mike's voice.

"That kids miserable because of you! Then you show up like your god! Saving him from me! What the hell is the matter with you!"

My mom, Lindsays, voice shouted back.

"I work everyday! Every damn day mike! I don't have anyone to turn to. I have nothing to turn to. I deal with the stress by myself. YOU! Well you're a goddamn different story. You turn to crack!"

I heard shuffles inside.

I sighed, I didn't wanna go in, but it's like. Did I even have a choice?

I trudged inside, not bothering to look into the living room.

All I heard were angry whispers now.

I was planning to take a shower after working at the shop, but the rain did that for me. I changed into some warm, new clothes.

"Du Dun."

I looked to the computer screen. An I.M. from sweetcherrypie19 popped up abruptly.

Sweetcherrypie<3: hey kid, good day?

Darion: Define good.

I grunted, knowing as soon as I started talking to Kayli, it would never stop.

Sweetcherrypie<3: Awh its okay! Come get some sugar ice with me!

I shook my head, the last thing I needed right now was pure sugar stuffed in my mouth.

Darion:Sorry kayli, g2g, see you tomrow.

Sweetcherrypie19<3: Awwwh! Ohkay! Ttyl.

I sighed heavily. Relief.

Kayli really was a nice girl. I jumped onto my old wooden oak bed; to pass out only a few minutes later.

"DU DU DU! Good morning, Oregon, and all surrounding sta" My alarm rang.

It was 6:30. Tiime for schoooool, I thought sarcastically. I already felt absentminded.

I slid on a gray hoodie with a circa logo out in the front, and dark blue jeans. I put my DC yellow and blue shoes on, and headed out the door.

As usual, it was raining as I was walked to school. When I arrived to school, I was a bit late. I rushed to my locker in my drenched clothes.

"Classes are starting in five minutes. Get to your classes immediately" The loudspeaker boomed.

I did a smooth half turn, and guess who was there.

"Kaayli. Hi."

"Hey Kid feeling better?" He voice perked up.

"I'd feel better if you didn't call me kid." I flashed a fake smile.
