Midnightstar padded through the grass around the Great River and sat down.

"Ah, Rosepetaltail you're finally here..." Midnightstar murmured through the sound of river water splashing the rocks around the Great River. Midnightstar could hear paw-steps thumping the ground as she looked up from the Great River.

"What do mean by 'you're finally here'?" Rosepetaltail hissed with a stinging look.

"I need to tell you something." Midnightstar murmured again.

"Okay then, go right ahead then. Just saying, I have a patrol to do!" Rosepetaltail muttered.

"Oh, don't worry Rosepetaltail, I know! Well, the thing I wanted to tell you is that my seconds are numbered and I am on my last life, Rosepetaltail. I wanted to say good-bye. Please look after everyone and tell my deputy about my passing." For the first time since they first opened their eyes, Midnightstar saw horror spark in Rosepetaltail's eyes.

"NO! You can't die, sister! I love you!" Rosepetaltail wailed. Midnightstar had had enough acting nice.

"Well, you sure didn't show it," Midnightstar muttered coldly. She looked in Rosepetaltail's eyes and saw hurt and pain flashing like a wildfire in her eyes.

"Good-bye then, Midnightstar. I wish you fair-well in your travels to Ghostclan." Rosepetaltail mewed while dipping her head respectfully.

"Good-bye Rosepetaltail. I hope if you have kits that they will turn into fine warriors one day." Midnightstar said her last fair-well as she started curling up into a ball. When she woke up she would be in Ghostclan...
