“You can’t make me.” I groggily state from under my covers, lately I've been so sleepy.

“Pookie, we both know what happened the last time I had to wake you up." Cole threatens.

I snort. “Yeah I pushed you in the pool.”

“That was after I pushed you in.” He retorts, attempting to save what was left of his pride.

“Fine.” I groan and sit up on my bed. I shoo Cole away so that I can change. Today is the day of the party and right now it’s around 9:00, the party starts at 10:00 so I really should get ready, I’m just too lazy.

I drag myself out of bed and take a nice cold shower. I know I’m weird, but I honestly like cold showers more than hot ones because they’re more refreshing. I pull on a black dress with 3 quarter sleeves that pretty much moulds to my body like a second skin and stops about 3 inches above my knee. I slip into some black ballet flats and pull my hair into a bun, just before I head out the door I spritz on some perfume and grab my bag.

I walk down the stairs to find Cole and my dad talking. Since when is my dad ever home at 9:30? Even if he is he usually locks himself in his study till like 1:00am. I walk up to them and clear my throat just to make sure they know I’m here. The both avert their attention to me and I can see Cole's eyes slighty rake over me.

“Hi sweetheart.” My dad greets me.

“Uh- hi dad, I guess you’ve met Cole.” I awkwardly say.

“So you’re going to a party?” He asks disregarding my question.

“Yeah, actually me and Cole should get going now if we don’t wanna be late.”

“Oh, okay, I understand, be safe you two.” My dad precautions us.

“Yes, sir don’t worry I’ll take good care of her.” Cole speaks up and waves to my father before opening the car door for me.

 “Thank you.” I address Cole.

“No problem.” He clears his throat as he goes around to the driver side of the car and hops in. “You- uh- you look amazing.” I giggle a bit as he slightly stutters.

“Thank you Cole.” I lean over and give him a peck on the cheek and smile as red sweeps over his face. The rest of the car ride is spent in a comfortable silence until we reach the party. Cole gets out of the car and comes around to my side to open the door.

“Cole, I don’t know about this.” My voice comes out a bit shaky.

“Don’t worry pookie, I think your friend Becca will be here too.” A feeling of relief washes over me once I realize Becca’s going to be here.

“I’m sorry it’s just this whole thing is really new to me.”

'“It’s okay, c’mon let’s go.” I nod in agreement as I grab Cole’s hand and walk towards the door.

So here it was before my eyes, a high school party. Warm beer, unnecessarily loud music, and people sucking of each other’s faces was the sight I was greeted to as I stepped through the doors. Aiden’s parents were obviously filthy rich so of course his house was a mansion, some people were even in their swimsuits so from the looks of it I’m guessing there’s a pool in here somewhere.

Cole leads me through the mansion, past the dance floor and into the kitchen towards some guy who I’m assuming is Aiden. He had broad shoulders, golden hair, blue eyes. Everything about him screamed football player, from his muscular build to his letterman jacket.

“Hey, what’s up man?” Cole asks as they go in for that weird handshake hug thing guys do.

“Nothing much bro, I’ve been chilling in Miami a lot lately and let me tell you the girls there a smokin’”
