My sword meets his and I smirk as he struggles to push me off but I use more force making him take a few steps back cursing.
He makes his next move and his sword almost graze my cheek but I kick his stomach and take away his sword as he falls to the ground groaning.
His hands rise up in defeat and I smile throwing both our swords away helping him up. "I have to say, I'm impressed."
He smiles looking at me and I cross my hands, "Still think you can beat me?" I ask him with a raised brow and he shrugs as his hand slowly went behind his armor but before he could throw me the spear, I raise my hands making it fly to the tree behind us.
"Hey, no powers!" he says making me laugh. "Sorry, Charles. I thought training was over." I walk away and hear him laugh from behind me before he grabbed my hand and entwined our fingers.
A few servants bowed their heads low as we walked passed them and I nod smiling at them. The entire Kingdom was decorated in my favourite colours; dark plum and gold bronze.
"I see everything's almost ready." Charles mutters next to me and I nod silently looking at the decorated hall. The doors to the Grand Hall were widely opened as people came in and out with instruments and foods in their hands.
My stomach made this weird sound making me look at Charles apologetically. "Sorry, haven't eaten all day."
"I've told you to stop skipping breakfast and lunch, wait till Her Highness hears about this."
I roll my eyes at him and quickly steal a few grapes from a servant carrying a dish full of them to the Hall.
"You're not supposed to-"
I quickly stuffed two grapes into his mouth cutting him off. His eyes widen making me laugh loudly as he struggled to swallow them quickly. "I could have died you know." he said holding his neck dramatically.
"Oh, please." I hand him the grapes and make a move to walk away but he grabs my hands and the minute I turn to face him, he stuffed three grapes down my throat. I cough loudly as his laugh roared through the entire lobby.
We earned a few smiles from the maids who looked at us briefly while I stood there mid-chocking and laughing.
"Oh, please." he repeats my words jokingly. I raise my hand to hit him but he is quick to stop me and our eyes lock. His light brown eyes looked deeply into mine and just as I was about to scare him a little with my blue ones, a maid walked up to us.
We immediately break the eye contact as I look at her and even though she bowed her head low, I recognized her immediately.
"Hi, Noma." I smile at her but she keeps her eyes glued to the floor making me frown.
"His Majesty requests for your presence. The ceremony is about to begin." she says.
I look outside the opened gates to see that the sun had began to set meaning I did not have much time.
"First of all, look at me." I tell her softly and she raises her head. "Much better. I don't understand why we can't make eye contact." I scoff.
"I'm not ready Noma. We just finished training and-"
"My princess, the maids are in your room ready to assist you in every way possible." her soft smile reassured me only but a little. I know how impatient my father is.
"I have to go." I whisper to Charles and he nods kissing my cheek. "See you in the ceremony?" he asks making me give him a long stare.
He didn't just ask that.
