I walk through the doors of the only theater in town that plays all the old-timey movies. I spot the snack stand and walk up to it.

"Hey Sophia!" Bob chirps, leaning against the counter.

"Hey Bobby. Hows it going?"

"Very slow, I'm bored." He groans and pops a gumdrop in his mouth. "So which movie will it be tonight?"

"Oh Bob, you know me. I'm sure you can guess."

"The Outsiders again?" He inquires and props his head in his hand and runs his fingers through his nonexistent hair.

I grin. "BINGO!"

"So are your friends joining you?"

"Yes they are, they're going to meet me in the theater. Can I get two large buttered popcorn buckets, please?"

He nods, "Sure thing Soph."

"Thanks Bob." I quickly pull my wallet out and grab a five dollar bill, smacking it on the counter in front of the cash register.

He grabs two large popcorn buckets and fills them up, gently placing them on the counter. "You're welcome."

I slide the money across the counter, he picks it up and shoves it in the register, handing me my change. "Here ya are. You kids have fun."

I smile, " Thanks Bobby."

"Aye! Sophia!" A few of my friends say in unison.

Maddie, my closest friend, snatches a bucket from my arms. "Thanks Sophia."

Karly slings her arm over my shoulder and smiles. "Let's get our seats."

We walk into the dimly lit room and sit down in the front row. "Can't wait for the movie to start." I exclaim, placing my feet on the bars in front of us.

"Why? You see this movie every month." Karly asks, smacking on her gum.

"It's a great movie." I explain, tugging on the ends of my hair. "And it's my favorite movie."

A few more of my friends pile into the rows behind me. I feel something touching my arm. I glance beside me and see a tall scrawny guy plop down next to me.

Maddie nudges my arm. "Who's that kid?"

I shrug. "No idea." There's a whole row of seats and he decided to sit by me and take my arm rest.

"Ask him his name." Maddie flips her hair in my face and leans forward, gazing at the boy next to me. "Ooh he's kinda cute." She giggles.

I look over at him, to see he's already staring at me. He smiles wide and pushes his big brimmed glasses up with his thumb.

I pull a piece of paper and a pen out of my pocket and quickly scribble words onto it. I fold it up sloppily and hand it to him with a grin.

He squints his eyes at me, and unfolds the note and whips a pencil out. He crumbles up the paper and hands it back to me.

His lips lift into a smile and he pushes his blonde curly hair behind his ear. I open the note and look down at his neat handwriting.

I'm Micah.
