ok UNPOPULAR OPINION but when i watched "Mr. Garrison's fancy new v*****." i actually didn't really see it as transphobic, maybe I'm stupid but i always thought it was more making fun of Garrison rather than transgender people as a whole but ive only seen it once like several months ago or maybe last year so idk if my opinion would change if i watched it again.

but remember what Chef said in a different episode "there's a difference between gay people and Mr. Garrison" now you could also say "there's a difference between trans people and Ms. Garrison" cuz Garrison isn't meant to be like most people im not sure if im describing my point well enough since i suck at describing things sometimes XD

as for the bit where Kyle became black and Gerald became a dolphin, keep in mind that Kyle was like 8 or 9 in this episode, and had never heard of a sex change before this episode. Sheila explained it something like this "if someone feels different on the inside than what they look like on the outside, then they can change their outside appearance to match their inside" or something. she never specified that applied to gender, and not race or species.

the older episodes still ran on the formula of the kids actually being naive to lots of things, which in my opinion, made them kind of adorable :3

therefore, Kyle, having only that explanation to go by, assumed that also meant he could get a "race change" and also a "height change".

Gerald becoming a dolphin, im not exactly sure what to say about that but Gerald isn't really an example of a rational human being (then again, pretty much no one on this show is XD) and its been awhile since i saw the episode so i cant quite remember all the details. maybe it was to show peoples ignorance or something im not sure :p

the end part where they said "you only look like a woman, but you're not actually a woman" i saw that more as the characters being ignorant rather than the overall message of the episode. but maybe my mind was just reaching for that one XD ^^; im not entirely sure.

I don't really know what people generally thought of transgender people during whatever year that episode came out (which was the early 2000s im pretty sure)

but anyway, i hope you didn't think i was hating on anyone, because I'm supportive of the LGBTQ+ community and I myself am bi ^_^
