Chapter 68
Cammie
“Please tell me,” I begged Zach as we drove through the early morning (And by early I mean still pretty much dark outside)
“Nope,” Zach shook his head and popped the P, in response I frowned and crossed my arms, “Look,” He sighed and reached over to me, “It’s only another ten minutes. Can’t you wait that long?”
As a spy and aforementioned Gallagher Girl, waiting cam naturally to me. That, however, did not mean I enjoyed it.
“I suppose,” I told him with a sigh and then sat up, “Can you at least tell me what Macey was saying about the clothes?”
“I asked her to get some for us,” Zach shrugged with a smirk, “No big deal really.” His smirk vanished as there was a bang, he turned the wheel sharply but it didn’t make any difference as the car swerved in to the ditch on the side of the road.
Two hands grabbed at me and dragged me out of my seat, Zach was unconscious so my screaming didn’t help at all.
Once I was out of the car I fought back, I kicked one of the black figures in the gut but before I could punch the others face he pinned my arms to my sides so I couldn’t move.
“No!” I cried, “Get off of me!” I continue to struggle as they smothered my face with a scented cloth, knocking me out.
Zach
I moaned and opened my eyes, “Cam?” I looked around me and frowned, “Cam!” I gasped when I realised she wasn’t in the upturned car with me.
“Zach?” Bex called, I looked out of the window and saw her feet stepping cautiously down the hill to the car.
“I’m here,” I called, “Cammie’s gone though.”
“We know,” Bex yanked open the door and helped pull me out, “Catherine got her.”
“No,” I shook my head, “No she can’t,”
“Macey and the boys have gone after her,” Bex told me as I got up, “Liz has gone back to school,”
“I should have seen the tail,” I clutched at my hair, walking around by the wreckage of the car, “I should have seen them coming!”
“Zach,” Bex snapped, “You didn’t, deal with it.”
“Cammie’s gone Bex!” I snapped back at her, didn’t she get it? My baby was in the hands of my mental mother!
“Cam will be okay Zach,” She softened a little, “I know she will,”
A second car pulled up then, heading back the way we had come.
“We couldn’t see them,” Macey came down to us, shaking her head, “They’re long gone.”
“Let’s get back to school,” Bex looked to me, I just nodded and followed them to the car.
At the school things were already moving, Liz was searching for CCTV camera footage of places they may have taken Cammie. Bex insisted I remembered the reg plate of the car behind us, but I hadn’t seen it so how I was meant to remember it I don’t know. Rachel was keeping Matt away from me as I was pretty sure he wanted to murder me as soon as he had found out Cammie had been taken. Abby had taken Kim and was driving along the road we had been on to see if any one came back to the scene.
Everyone else was just waiting.
Cammie
I woke up in a pretty nice room. It was cooled by air con, there was a sink, arm chair, and the bed was pretty comfy too.
I shivered as goose bumps covered my bare arms. Outside the air had been warm, in here it was cold. I pulled the blanket around me and stood up, looking to see if there was a remote.
I was searching on the bedside table when the door handle turned. I straightened myself and stepped back, as far as I could from the door.
“Hello Cammie,” Catherine grinned at me, “Did you have a nice sleep?”
“What do you want?” I shivered again.
“I only want an heir Cammie,” She told me, “An heir to carry on The Circle.”
“So what?” I shook my head, “You’re going to keep me here until I have it?”
“Oh very good Cammie!” She clapped her hands in excitement,
“And then what?” I swallowed.
“You can go back to Zachary and play happy families.” She waved her hand in dismissal, “Now, are you going to do this the easy way or the hard way?”
“What?” I shrunk back from her.
“Are you going to tell me how pregnant you are or not?” She looked at me as if I were her pray.
“Let’s get one thing straight from the off,” I spat at her, “I am not going to give you anything.”
“Fine then,” Catherine smirked, “We’ll do it the hard way.”
She stepped back and two men in black came through the door, each grabbing one of my arms and lifting me off the floor. They carried me along a brightly lit corridor, lined with prison cell like doors, until they reached one marked US. I struggled as they forced me down on a hard bed and attempted to strap me to it so I couldn’t move. I cried out when the belts were fastened too tight on my arms and legs, and they only got tighter as I struggled.
“Now, now, it’s only a harmless ultrasound Cameron,” Catherine told me as she came in with another, darker haired, woman. I didn’t like the way they looked at me. I felt like an animal they were buying, they looked over every inch of me appraising me.
“She’s a fine one,” The second woman eventually nodded, “Young too,”
“Let’s see how far along she is,” Catherine gestured to the machine at the other end of the room. I bit my lip as she lifted my t-shirt up and squeezed some of that really cold gel on to my tummy.
I tensed up as the probe ran over my stomach, I felt dirty and laid bare for them. I tired my head away from them and closed my eyes, hoping and needing for it to be over.
“Well, well, well.” The second woman says, making me turn my head back to her. Both of them were grinning, like they knew something I didn’t.
“9 weeks pregnant,” Catherine’s friend smirked at me, “With twins.”
I gasped and shook my head, “No, I’d know if it were. You’re lying!” I shouted and struggled as the two men in black came and took me back to my cell.
There I lay on the bed and cried silently, tears ran down my cheeks as I curled up on the bed. Twins! I was having twins!
“Where are you Zach?” I whispered and closed my eyes to sleep.
