Looking back through time,
I see us,
Walking upon the sands of time,
Side by side, hand in hand,
Through the hours of eternity.
We could never have guessed,
That the happiness we shared
Would fade into the blue.
All we have left,
Are memories of our past,
How we wish it could all come back.
This feeling,
It’s like we’ve lost something dear,
It’s like someone died near,
It’s like we can’t move on,
Just can’t let go.
Each time, when there’s no where to go,
No one to go to,
Nothing to hold on to,
There’s consolation,
When we have each other
Every time we’re alone,
As life stands still for us,
Our minds wander off,
Thinking about those little things,
That made life worthwhile.
The laughs we shared,
The looks that meant a thousand words,
The little things like that,
Now come back as a pained feeling,
In our connected hearts.
Now we stand,
Back to back,
Going on our own paths,
That led us away,
From one another.
How we wish,
That all our ways
Meet eventually,
And we shall stand again:
Face to face.
If we could just,
Look at each other’s faces,
One last time;
Every second of it
Is worth fighting for.
Every time we’re in a fight,
Or our mind is closed,
When it’s cold within,
Its becomes warm again
Through our thoughts.
Because,
Friends like us,
Are hard to find;
We share all our joys,
Especially the ones that worry.
WE have each other’s back,
And will never let,
Darkness overcome us.
So let us not
Sob over our forever past,
But re-live it.
Let us plan ahead,
Awaiting the time
When we meet again.
