Jack spent the entire weekend calling and texting Tia, but she did not respond to any of his attempts to contact her. Jack had tried to explain his side of the story to his step sister Brittany, hoping she would pass along the information to Tia, but she was also giving him the cold shoulder. Given the past track record with Jack's relationship with Erica, Brittany did not know what to believe. She was doing her best to stay out of it, but she was disappointed by her brother's treatment of her friend. Jack and his womanizing had cost Brittany a few of her friendships, and Tia had promised not to let their closeness suffer, but it was hard to believe that. Brittany had offered to come to Tia's house the next day, but Tia had declined her offer. Part of Brittany feared that it was the beginning of the end for her friendship, and she was upset that her brother had broken his promise to her.

Erica had called Jack only once the next day, and he'd reiterated his requests for her to stay out of his life and ended the call before she could respond. Erica was shell shocked by how he spoke to her. She knew how to handle his anger, but he was not angry with her. Jack seemed to be completely disinterested in interacting with Erica at all. Tia was not the first girl that Erica had to push away from Jack, but it seemed that she had finally forced him away for good. She may have succeeded in placing a wedge between Jack and Tia, but she had managed to get shut out herself in the fall out.

Jack was sort of glad to see Kirkland Academy on Monday. He hoped to see Tia in class, and finally explain the truth to her, but she was not present for their first class. Jack's hopes to see Tia fizzled as the day went on and she was not in any of the other classes they shared. He was tired of waiting to see her, and he was feeling desperate to talk to her by the end of the school day. Jack copied all of his notes and gathered the assignments that Tia missed out on, and headed to her house. Even if delivering her class work was a poor excuse to get in the door, he had to try to see her. His hand trembled as he pressed the button at the gate. Jack felt his nerve slipping as he arrived at her home.

"Hey Jack, what's up?" Fish greeted him warmly through the intercom, and buzzed him in and the gate swung open. Jack was confused by the sweetness in the man's greeting, but he assumed that Tia had not mentioned the incident at the party to her father.

The front door was soon opened, and Fish's body filled the frame as he greeted Jack with a firm handshake.

"What brings you by?" asked Fish as the two men stepped into the house.

"I just wanted to drop off these assignments for Tia," Jack said producing the papers from his bag. The papers shook in his nervous hands, and Jack sat them down quickly, hoping that Fish did not notice his trembling.

"She is upstairs. I think she may be awake now if you want to see her," Fish suggested.

"No thanks, I don't want to disturb her. Besides, I have to go. I have to get to soccer practice," Jack said stepping on Fish's words to decline the offer. He didn't know what Tia would say if she saw him, or what her father's reaction would be to finding out what happened between them at the party.

"Well, I hope to see you soon, Jack," Fish said, walking him out.

"Goodbye Sir," Jack said heading to his car.

"Hey, Jack, can I ask you for a favor?" Fish said, stopping him from entering the car.

"Sure. What do you need?" asked Jack.

"I am planning a surprise party for Tia's birthday, and I was wondering if you could help me," he said in a whispered tone, looking around for signs of his daughter overhearing his plan.

Jack paused for a few long moments before nodding his head slowly as to accept the request. " I'll help you. I'll make sure that Tia has the best birthday ever."
