"Will you be my girlfriend?" He rushed out. It was slow enough for my brain to process the simple sentence, my eyes widening slightly at the decision I had to make.

I made a mental list in my mind.

My heart screamed 'yes,' while my head screamed 'no.'

And I ended up like every teen or romance movie out there, because I girl said "yes."

I was thrilled with my new relationship, happy that I could call him mine even if he was insufferable at times, and got into a fight with my best friend.

Since Wesley had been ignoring me for days, I decided that spending all my time with Axel would be the best way to get over it, especially because Axel and I had gotten closer, so I actually did want to spend time with him.

I was prepared to tell Ainsley, Jordan, and Wesley about my new found relationship, I just wasn't prepared for their reactions.

"Need some help with that?" I asked Jordan the morning after my new found relationship forming. She was attempting to cook eggs, and it really wasn't turning out in her favor.

She jumped a little, startled, but nodded sheepishly once noticing how burnt her eggs actually were. They weren't even a color brown that was identifiable.

"That might be a good idea. How was your date last night, by the way?" She asked tentatively.

A grin lit up my features, "great. We went bungee jumping and it was really fun. I, uh, have something to tell you."

I couldn't place my finger on the exact reason why I was nervous to tell Jordan about Axel and I, probably having something to do with the fact that she didn't like him nearly as much as I did, or Ainsley did for that matter.

"Okay. What is it?" When I didn't answer, just sprayed a new pan with cooking spray and cracked some eggs into it, an expression filled with worry overtook her features, "Arlee, what happened?"

"He, uh, y-you see. Axel asked me to be his girlfriend." She gasped in surprise.

"Wow. You said 'no', right?"

I scratched my forehead, "not exactly."

A pained expression appeared on her face, and her eyes filled with worry and sadness.

I opened my mouth to ask her about it, when she ran out of the room.

What. The. Fuck.

Even if she didn't approve of Axel, couldn't she see that he made me happy? He made me genuinely happy.

I knew that they weren't exactly best friends, but it would've been nice to have my best friends support. As of late, Jordan had been really spacey about Axel, and every time he would come up in a conversation she'd either ignore it or get a funny look on her face like she didn't know quite what to do, and it aggravated me to no end.

Here I was, thinking about the possibilities of being single when I had just gotten into a relationship with Axel, the fact that we already had a problem and it had only been a day into our new relationship.

I didn't get the chance to go after her, because Ainsley came into the room, her eyes half open and her feet tiredly dragging behind her. "What was that about?"

"Ainsley? Do you guys not approve of me dating Axel or something, because I just told Jordan the news and she got a distant, faraway, sad look on her face and I don't know what the hell's been going on lately. If I did something can you please tell me because I really don't know why you guys have all been acting out of it lately," I snapped, my voice betraying me and cracking at the end of my rant.
