The Road Home

Everyone gathered together with a few boxes in the middle of a circle where all the lions where. Pidge walked towards the group after an attempt to contact Earth. "Were you able to contact Earth?" asked Shiro, sitting on a box and the Green Paladin joining him. She answered, "No luck. The low power levels are probably affecting our broadcast distance. I'll keep trying as we head for Earth." "I can't believe we're finally going home," said the Cuban male, his hands on his hips. Hunk hugged himself as he told the others, "I'm gonna hug my parents and never let go." "I can't wait to see how Dad integrated Altean and Earth technologies together. I bet he came up with something amazing," Pidge sounding excited but stopped when she thought about her mom, "And my mom...oh, she's gonna be so mad at me for running away. I hope I'm not grounded." 

My dad probably thinks I'm dead. My head is gonna be on a platter for not coming home if I see him. Olivia thought to herself.

Keith looked to the side where Coran was counting. "How long you think it'll take us to get home?" asked Keith, Coran looking down at his fingers. He answered, "I was just calculating that now. Without the luxury of a wormhole and with diminished power cores, let me see, carry the one...oh, it's gonna take us approximately 150,000 Earth years." Everyone gasped in shock while Olivia raised an eyebrow. "A hundred and fifty thousand years?" Keith raised his voice in shock. Olivia spoke, "Coran, I think your finger counting is a little...way off. My calculations say it's gonna be 1.5 years." Everyone groaned at the big difference in the years they were told. "Oh, right. I didn't carry the three," he said, having an embarrassed smile.

Allura stated, "It's going to be a very long and difficult voyage, but it's our only chance to replace the Castle of Lions." Shiro looked down at his feet with a serious expression. "There were times when I thought I'd never see Earth again," Shiro began, "To be able to go back-." Lance cut him off, "Well, what are we waiting for, guys? Let's hit the space road." Krolia spoke as she looked down, "I suppose we need to figure out who's flying with whom." "We also need to decide who the animals are going with, Olivia added. "What about them?" asked Pidge. Coran explained, "Well, the Wolf and Fox can't go with Kaltenecker, those two eat cows. The cow can't be in the same area as the mice because aren't cows afraid of mice?" Lance disagreed with the last statement. "No, elephants are afraid of mice." Coran asked what elephants are. "Yeah. They're giant gray animals with long noses that grab things." Allura thought about what elephants looked like by his description. "Earth seems so strange," Allura said. 

Keith spoke, "The wolf is riding with me, but that means Hunk or Olivia will have to take the cow." Hunk pointed at himself. "Me with the cow? Not a good idea," Hunk argued with the plan, he crosses his arms. Olivia shook her had as she didn't want her lion to smell like manure. "Hunk's right. Keith, you're keeping the cow. Someone else is gonna have to take the wolf." They all looked at Pidge. "Not me. I am allergic," she argued. "I'll take the mice," Allura said. Olivia stated, raising her hand, "I want the fox to come with me." Keith crossed his arms. He complained, "How come you get the smallest passengers?" "Speaking of the fox. What is going on with it?" Krolia said and everyone's attention turned to a medium size looking cocoon. "It seems the animal is turning into something else," Beautiful Meadow stated, looking down at it. "See the fox won't be giving me any trouble," said Olivia. "I say we go old school and draw straws," suggested Hunk. Allura thought that they were actually drawing. Coran told a story about how bad she was. "Guys, you're all overthinking this. I know exactly where everyone should go. 

Everyone got ready to depart from the planet with their passengers. Hunk got the mice, Allura got the wolf and the cocoon fox, Keith got Krolia, Coran, and Shiro, Lance got Romelle and Beautiful Meadow, and Olivia got stuck with Kaltnecker. "Lance, did I do something to deserve Kaltnecker,"  she said, frowning as she looked at the cow's large body knocking stuff over. All the lions took off for their long space road trip. 

Everyone seemed to have problems except Hunk with the passengers. "No! Kaltnecker is beginning to eat the third book to the series I'm reading!" Olivia got out of her seat to pull the book out of the cow's mouth, "If you don't stop this I'll be eating steak for dinner!" Coran and Romelle sang an Altean song. 

"Who wants to see the mice stacked on my head?" Hunk asked. 

Lance had red foam on the side of his body. "You've gotta be kidding me!"

"Wonderful, now everything is covered in wolf drool and fox's cocoon is shedding a lot," complained Allura. Keith only replied, "Oh, yeah, he's supper drooly."

Olivia yelled, "Everything in my lion has been knocked over and is a complete mess!"

The paladins argued with each other or with their passengers. Keith had enough as he said, "That's it! We're switching passengers!" The paladins agreed to their leader's decision. "Hey, why haven't we heard from Pidge?" question Hunk. Lance wondered, "Yeah. Wait, who's in her lion again?" "I don't know, Lance, you're the one that came up with this grouping," stated Olivia, sounding tired. Hunk began to guess, "Well, she must have- no, they're with Keith. And the wolf is with Allura, Olivia's with the cow, I have the mice." Allura realized the situation of Pidge. "Is she all alone?" Everyone raised their eyebrows as they knew that had to be it.

~Time Skip~

Pidge complained, "Oh, come on, guys, this is so not fair." Everyone gave the passengers they didn't want to Pidge which was all except Krolia and Shiro. 

The Lions flew in position to the nearest system. "This is the Klii-Nyn System," explained Krolia, seeing the information on Keith's dashboard, "There's a Blade of Marmora rally point located on a Moon here. We should check in with them and get an update on their operations." Keith announced to the rest, "Team, we're going to make a quick stop. Everyone follow me." The Lions followed the Black Lion.

~Time Skip~

The paladins found no one in the base. Soon the lions were being attacked by Galra ships of an unknown fleet. The Lions went through a cave to lose the ships. Luckily not many were hurt only Keith's wolf. The Lions exited only to be stopped by a machine which made their bodies feel heavy as they were trapped on the ground. 

Hey guys I'm sorry for not updating and putting this book on pause because of many reasons. I will try to resume. The last paragraph of this chapter was just a summary as everything I wrote wasn't saved and gone. I do really apologize!!!
