Overcomed it at last

Before I knew you, it was war,
Stranded on every side I remained,
Hopelessly wishing for help,
Bounded to pain I refused to break,

All along I prayed fervently for your return,
To this day, you would come,
Sadly the doors of luck were shut,
Wishing me away for good,

My world which I knew was dark,
Clouded with tears and sorrow,
Ever dark as the night in its prime,
The moon refused its light on me,

A shadow of myself I remained,
Shut out cruelly from the world of life,
An opaque object I was,
Repelling the beams of light from the sun,

Suddenly I see my light,
Approaching this dark presence of mine,
With its outstretched arms,
He enclosed me safely,

Shielded I was, away from the pain,
In his arms, I longed to stay,
Now, the chains which held me bound are broken,
The storm is over,

Though the oceans can rage,
The nations can quake,
The evenings can come,
He will always be my STAR,

That bright star that brought me out of my troubles,
It's attractive and soothing light it shone my way,
The ever present love I see in his eyes,
This unyielding passion he has for me,
Has turned my mourning to joy,
My sorrow to laughter,
My weeping to rejoicing,
Forever he will be,
A perfect harmony to my melodious being.
