Melody's POV

I cant believe this here I hold in my hand a letter addressed to me. A letter from my Dad. Sitting down on the bed I opened it with shaky hands.

To my dearest Melody,

If you are reading this letter I have passed away, and for that I am truly sorry.

There is so much that I wish I could tell you, so many things you need to know to understand. I need you to understand.

I hope that your mother is treating you well, I know at times she can be overwhelming and even hurtful.

I also hope that this letter has been kept safe and out of the hands of the wrong people for I have a couple of things you must do.

There is a key hidden in something I have given you, something that know one would know but you.

The key opens a PO box that will lead you to the thing I need you to do first. Tell know one unless you trust them with your life.

The po box is located in my home town, I hope you'll be able to find your way there.

There is so much more I wish to write but I'm afraid I am running out of time. Just know I love you and I will always be with you even if I cant actually be there.

Love Dad xx

Wiping the tears from my eyes I couldn't help but be confused, my life has been turned upside down in such a short time.

Now I have to make it to his hometown which is a small country town about a days drive from where I live but I'll have to take a bus so it'll take longer.

I haven't been there before the only reason I know this is because once I turned eighteen I was going to go find my father's side of the family.

My mother never talked about them, she said they weren't happy that my father married her.

Making my way down stairs into the kitchen I grabbed myself a cup of water while deciding what to do. First things first I need to find the key, and I think I know exactly where it is.

Just as I was making my way upstairs I saw the letter from my mother out of the corner of my eye.

Shrugging knowing I shouldn't put it off any longer I ripped it open.

Melody,

Here is the finalized paper work, of the house. I have also signed everything of your father's over to you seeing as I won't be needing any of it anymore.

What she means is that she won't be needing any of my fathers money anymore!

Deciding not to dwell on that at the moment, I ran upstairs into my room, to find the box of trinkets I kept in the back of my closet.
