It was another boring day at the castle. No missions were dispatched since everyone who had survived needed a break. No training ensued, no cleaning (except on Levi's part) and nothing.

Armin's one who never gets bored. He could read every book at the base's library. And that's exactly what he did.

It's been eleven days since the Female Titan attacked the Stohess District. Everybody in the Scout Regiment was given a month off for some weird apparent reason, but there were no rebuttals to this.

With this time, everyone laid in their respective rooms and slept like a rock. Besides Levi, who decided to clean his room, the bathrooms, the kitchen, the stables and his cleaning supplies. Armin, on the other hand, decided to read a few books. Or rather, every book, article, pamphlet and newspaper in the library. He knew every story that was to be told in the room. He decided to wander the perimeter of the base, wander around and occasionally stop to praise the view.

The blonde teen was in the close by forest where training happened. Titan cut-outs were ready to be slaughtered, yet there were zero soldiers practicing right now. He strolled along the edge of the training grounds. He continuously thought about what is time next. Every memory since he opted to join Eren and Mikasa to become a part of the Scout Regiment. He was so in dept of his thoughts, he didn't even see the obvious "thing" that was sticking out of the ground.

"AAAHHHHH!" Armin yelled as he tripped. As soon as he hit the ground, he gripped his leg. A little bit of pain traveled along his leg. When the pain died down, he looked over at what he trapped over.

Whatever it was, it was still mostly buried. He crawled over to the object, slowly.

Was this an old trap or something? Was this a way to kill Titans? Armin thought.

He slowly stretched his hand to the mysterious object, throwing caution to the wind. Suddenly...

Nothing. Absolutely nothing happened when he touched it.  It was made out of  something. Or something new altogether. If only the creepy scientist would pop up when he actually needed her.

And speak of the devil...

"What you got there, Armin?"

"Holy crap! What are you doing here?"

She will appear.

"Just coming back from material round up for this little experiment I'm doing. Now what are you doing here?" Hanji answered.

"I got bored. I finished every book in the library."

"Congrats on being the second person to finish the whole library. So whatcha got there?"

"Wait, what do you mean by 'second'?" Armin questioned. Who else, besides Armin, would be willing enough to read the entire library?

"Eren didn't tell you? Every time he finished his chores, he got bored and went straight to the library. Finished every book there in one week." Hanji said nonchalantly. "Back to my question, what the heck is that thing?"

Armin snapped out of his shock when he heard Hanji continue. "Oh, uh, no idea. I tripled over this."

Hanji jumped around like a little girl and squealed like one too. "Did you touch it? Will it capture Titans? Is it a weapon? Ooh, what is it?"

"If it was a weapon, I would have died. But I don't think it is."

"Well, let's dig it up!"

"Digging won't kill us, right?"

"If digging could kill me, I would have died a couple hours ago." Hanji smirked, putting her hands on her hips. Armin gave her a confused look. "I'll explain later. Now start digging like you've never dug a deep ditch in your whole darn life before!"
