Chapter 20 ~ Close shave

Alee ~

I'm back at mine and Cal's house with Keeleigh when I saw Michael's number come up on my phone, I answered it expecting him to ask for Keeleigh,

"Alee!!" he sounded panicked

"What is it Michael?"

"Ugh, erm..."

"Michael, tell me... you're worrying me now"

"Luke crashed the car that he and Cal were in. Their at the hospital.."

I didn't wait another second I put my phone on the table and grabbed my coat and car keys. Keeleigh picked up my phone and began to talk to Michael who was obviously still there. She hung up then and handed me my phone and took my car keys from me "let me drive, you're in no fit state to drive", she was right. I was a mess, tears poured down my face and I was a nervous wreck. I nodded and walked out and got in the passenger side. She got in the drivers seat and started the car "what did Mikey tell you?" I asked. "They're both awake now, Cal broke his arm but is otherwise okay. You can chill, okay?" she smiled. I nodded although it was very hard for me to chill when I knew this was all Luke's plan, not an accident!

We got to the hospital and asked the receptionist where they are. She gave us directions to a ward and we walked to it. We went in and Michael saw us first and came over and hugged me before wrapping his arm around Keeleigh. Michael showed us to where Cal and Luke were. Cal was sitting up talking to Ash, when he saw me his brown eyes lit up and I'm pretty sure I saw a tear. I ran to him and threw my arms around his neck and sobbed on to his shirt. He rubbed my back with his good hand "there, there, it's okay baby. I'm here" he says softly. I look at him and he smiles at me, he kisses me gently. I then pull myself away from him and stand next to his bed.

Luke has been avoiding eye contact with me since the minute I got here, typical!

"What actually happened?" I ask sniffing as I wipe my tears away. Cal glances over at Luke who is looking at his hands shamefully "we were like way over the limit for driving and Luke lost control. We swerved all over the road before going bonnet first into a shop window. I don't remember anything after"

Luke briefly glances over at everyone "I tried to regain control.." he was cut off then as I lunged for him. I kneeled on his bed and banned on his belly and chest hard with my fists "YOU COULD HAVE KILLED HIM! YOU COULD HAVE KILLED HIM! YOU COULD HAVE FUCKING KILLED HIM!.." I repeatedly said similar sentences like those over and over until Ash peeled me off Luke and I broke down in loud sobs as he hugged and soothed me. Ash handed me to Calum when I started to violently sob again. Cal sighed and held me close to him with his good arm and kissed the top of my head "what was that about? Huh?" he questions. I just shake my head and continue to cry into him.

Keeleigh leans into Michael and he hugs her, I can hear her crying when I start to calm down. She's probably crying because I was crying, she's that sort of person. I pull free of Calum and go over to Keeleigh "hey, what you crying for, silly?" I tease. She half smiles "I hate seeing you like that" she chokes as she hugs me. I hug her back and we cry together. Michael just watches us awkwardly and exchanges a look with Calum that says "the girls, huh! What we gonna do with them?", Calum chuckles slightly and smiles, Michael smiles too.

I pull out of Keeleigh's grasp and go back to Calum, I don't want to let him out my sight ever again!

Luke looks at me, I know it's hurting him to see Calum and I happy, even after what he did to Cal. He deserves it for trying to wreck our lives, he's lucky that I won't turn him into the police for possibly trying to kill Cal. I'm mad at Luke, I hate him now but I'd never snitch on him...
