Toudou Jinpachi x Makishima Yuusuke: Translations

The summer sun peaked from the clouds above as if welcoming your return from America. Hot, humid wind blew. The bustling people in the suburbs. Different people, speaking your native tongue. Just like the old times. Just like Japan.

But what's Japan without your best friends? Lonely. Fortunately enough for you, you saw them, waiting in a corner of the airport.

Toudou, who saw you first, ran towards you like running in a marathon. While Makishima, composed as he always was, just walked towards you. Toudou had this grin-like smile on his face, while Makishima didn't even tried smiling, as he knew how cringy it was. You internally laughed at the thought.

Being the charismatic person Toudou is, he never minded your hand carry and proceeded to hugging you tightly, making a scene. Makishima, on the other hand, sighed and picked up your bag.

After hugging you, Toudou stepped aside. He smiled, before greeting you. To your surprise, Makishima held your your hand. He looked at you and tried 'smiling'. Both of you and Toudou laughed hard, despite the effort Makishima was giving.

"Shall we go then?" Toudou asked, grabbing your luggage before lending his hand to you.

Instead of letting go, you felt Makishima's hand tighten around yours. Toudou may have felt some jealousy from Makishima, so he didn't hesitate to draw his hand to himself.

"Where to?" The three of you asked all together, making all of you laugh, which catched some attention.

"Home, of course!" You gave the two a bright smile, before hailing a taxi.

Comfortably sitting in your couch, the boys were at your sides; Makishima was at your right, while Toudou was at your left. In short, they had you in between them.

At first, you felt comfortable. But after a few minutes of sitting in between two boys, which were staring intently at each other, you felt eerie, instead of the earlier comfort.

You stood up, causing both of them to topple down, with Toudou on top of Makishima. The latter groaned, cursing Toudou for a minute. Toudou got off him.

"So... I guess you haven't spoken Japanese for almost a year?" Makishima sat up along with Toudou.

"Let's see if you still can speak our native tongue." Toudou said, while he gave you a smile.

"I'm on!" You sat on the couch again. And again, in between the boys.

"Hmm.. You see that apple? Let's see... My apple is red. There, translate it." Toudou chimed, making you think.

Red is aka in Japan, and the japanese of apple is ringo. My is 'ore no', so...

"Ore no ringo wa aka." You smiled at him, before breaking into fits of laughter.

"If that is easy for you, then this is no big deal for you!" Makishima fake coughed, before continuing, "I'm in love."

Watashi wa refers to 'I'm' in Japanese, in translates to ni, and love is either 'koi' or 'ai'.

"Watashi wa ni iru koishiteru." Makishima broke into fits of laughter, taking his joke to another level. You, on the other hand, glared at him.

"With whom?" Toudou asked, taking no hints of any joke from Makishima and you.

"It's just a line!" Makishima and you blurted out at the same time. Toudou just let out an 'oh' in response.

"Ok, then translate this for me, (y/n). I miss you." Toudou said. Taking no hints of seriousness in his tone, you tried to translate it.

"Inakute sabishidesu."

"I miss you too, (n/n)." Toudou replied, almost inaudible, yet enogh for you to hear.

"Sorry, I didn't catch that-"

"Nothing, nothing~"

"If you say so..." You paused, before looking to Makishima. "Then, Maki, give me a line to translate."

"I know, I know. How about this? I have a crush on you." Just like earlier, you didn't took any hints of seriousness in the boy's tone.

"Watashi wa anata ni tokimeki o motte iru."

"Good thing you finally admitted who." Toudou said sarcastically, that was on the verge of tears from jealousy.

"Well, I have none!" You defended, making Makishima snicker at Toudou. "Just give me one more line to translate. Jin-chi, give me one."

"Fine..." He paused, thinking of something, before his mind lighted up. "I love you."

Not taking any hint of serious confession from Toudou, Makishima's mouth fell open before he glared at Toudou. In return, Toudou grinned at him.

"Aishiteruyo."

"I love you too, (n/n)!" Toudou smiled from ear ro ear, as if he won a million yen.

"Yeah, I love you and Maki. Best friends forever! Group hug!" Toudou's smile faded away, and Makishima internally laughed at Toudou.

All of you stood up and hugged each other as Toudou sulked.
