Im the type of girl who sits in the front and doesn't speak in class, or raise her hand.

I don't know why but i just really like to listen.

Some people come up to me and ask me why I don't talk at all or why I'm so quiet.

The average people sit in the middle.

The delinquents sit in the back to do childish things.

Im a Sophomore in High school and to think we'd learn by now, when people are still trying to find themselves and their own voices.

I enjoy studying and reading books.

My eye vision isn't that great but its not that bad.

I was caught in my daydream when-

"Shane Oman! What did I say about disrupting my class?" Mr. Shear practically shouted that brought me back to reality.

He simply didn't say anything but just shrugged.

"Gather your things and take a seat up here next to Skylar." He had said.

"Who's that?" Shane abruptly asked.

"Your classmate up here in the front." The teacher said.

He rolled his eyes, collected his things and made his way towards the seat next to mine.

As he slumped down he slowly made eye contact with me.

"Alright class, you may silently start reading with partners, except for you Shane, you can work with Skylar. Is that alright Skylar?" Mr. Shear asked me.

"Uhm-sure." I mumbled without making any contact.

I look over at Shane and he's just staring at me.

"What?" I asked quietly.

"You just have pretty-" He was saying.

"I don't hear bookwork talk Mr. Oman." Mr. Shear said.

I scoot my desk closer to Shane's.

I opened my book to the page we needed to start reading.

"Do you have your book?" I asked.

"I must have grabbed the wrong one by accident." He said.

Sure. By accident.

"Well you can share with me I guess." I said.

"Thanks." He said looking at my History book.

"You know, I feel like I know you." He said.

"I was in your middle school." I said.

"Really? Did we even had any classes?" He asked.

"Yea, like all of them." I said.

"Sorry, I don't really remember." He said.

"It's fine, really." I said.

We finished reading our pages in a matter of minutes. Everyone was still reading and we were sitting there kinda awkwardly.

"Alright class. Theres a small emergency with my son at home, a building sub should be here soon." Mr. Shear said quickly putting his stuff in his bags and leaving.

We were all sitting there in the quiet listening to no talking except for a few murmurs.

Shane broke the silence by talking to me.

"I was trying to say earlier that your eyes are really pretty." He said.

Was he complimenting me? Or being sarcastic? With him no one knows.

"Thanks." I said putting hair behind my ear.

"Hey listen, there's this party this Saturday, and I know I barely know you, but would you want to go with me?" He asked.

"Is this some kind of a joke to you? You think you can walk in here and get any girl you want?" I said.

I wish i didn't say that out loud.

"We can go somewhere on Friday? and then the party on Saturday?" He asked.

"Are you not taking a hint? You don't need every girl in this school to fall for you! Because I don't like you!" I said.

And that made him like me even more.
