It was one of my worst days ever, but one of the best days of my life.
My name is Eric Thompson, I'm 16, about 5'8, I live in R. City, don't ask what the "R" stands for, no one really knows, I attend RC High School, I love science and, oh yeah, I'm a super hero. That might be hard to believe and understand, so I'll start with how I came to be a hero in the first place.
One bright sunny morning, I woke up thinking things would be boring and bland as usual, haha, nope! As soon as I got to school I started to see clouds in the sky, now don't get me wrong, I love the rain, but not today, not when things were already going downhill for me. When I got to my locker before class, I accidentally bumped into the school bully, Carter Mathews. He was a large, fowl smelling jock who hated being touched, I don't know why but it's weird.
"Hey! Thompson! Watch where you're going!" Carter said. He seemed to be already aggravated before I bumped into him. His teeth were clenched and his face a permanent scowl.
"Sorry, Carter, I didn't see you there, it won't happen again.." I apologized nervously.
"Didn't see me!?" he exclaimed, "You saying I'm too lame to be noticed!?" He always jumped to conclusions and assumed things that weren't true.
"No! not at all!" I stated. The bell then rang.
"You better watch yourself, Thompson!" he yelled as he stormed off to class. After that, everything kind of went to hell....
Everything was going smoothly after that, until lunch that is. When it was time for lunch, I went to the cafeteria like always and waited in line, but today, the line was the longest it's ever been. When I finally got my food tray, I was so hungry and excited to eat that I turned around quickly so I could immediately get to a table and chow down. But as soon as I turned, I had not only bumped into, but also covered Carter in the gross slop the lunch ladies call "food". I looked up and saw a face of absolute rage, completely red, teeth clenched tightly, and bloodshot eyes focused on me.
"TOMPSON!!!!!!" he yelled at the top of his lungs, "YOU'RE FUCKING DEAD!!!!" As soon as I heard him yell I darted out the door and down the road. I turned my head back to see him and a couple of his buddies he apparently had tag along taking off after me to rip me a new one.
"Damn it!" I thought to myself, "I'd kill for some kind of superhero or something to get me out of this mess!" I then turned down a side street and then down a gravel road I'd never seen before, but I figured if it would help get away faster then why not try it.
"You're not getting away with that Thompson!" he yelled. "Yeah, we're gonna make you pay big time!" one of his buddies said. "Yeah, you little punk!" said the other.
The whole time from the school to here it had been raining but I hadn't noticed it till now that it was practically pouring down heavily. I could hear loud thunder booms and see some flashes of light in the dark grey clouds. I had been so distracted from all the commotion the weather was making that I didn't realize I was completely lost and had no idea where I was, but Carter and his friends were still chasing me, that's for sure.
Then suddenly, I tripped on a large piece of gravel and fell into a foul smelling green puddle. I didn't know what it was but it was seeping into my skin and burned really bad. I could hear those guys getting closer as well as a deep loud rumbling over me. As I started to ignore the burn of the odd liquids absorbed by my skin, the guys had almost got to me, but then, it happened. A huge bolt of lightning had struck down from the clouds and had directly hit me. At the time, I didn't know why but, my body felt weird when I was struck.
It was a long electrocution that felt like it went on for hours, though instead of a burning jolt inside, it instead felt like fresh cool water was flowing all throughout my body over and over, giving me a feeling of full energy but also like I was drained too.
I collapsed motionless before Carter and his two friends and just laid there silently, for I couldn't even speak.
"Ahhhh!" Carter screamed, "Holy fuck, he's dead, let's get out of here!"
As I laid there slowing passing out, I could hear them run away screaming and yelling in panic. My eyes were closing slowly as I was blacking out, and the only things I could see while laying in the green puddle, were the sky clearing up, the fence by my face, and a very large building a ways off in the distance behind the fence. The only thing I was thinking of at the time was:
"What... the hell... just happened to me..?"
